Lovely pub in really nice surroundings. Fabulous outdoor space particularly on the current sunny days. Good menu choice and can recommend the lollipop prawns. The hall space to hire is absolutely magnificent, what a place to hold a function. Bar staff and management very friendly and provided excellent service. Would definitely visit again.

Having heard good reports about C&C, we went along recently but seems change of owners. Having made a reservation our table for 2 was not ready for us but there were plenty of tables available but we were asked to sit at a cramped unlaid table. Starter menu seemed "a bit" more exciting than the mains which was not exciting, very poor & lacking in choice - needs to be inspired by more choice & needs to be reviewed big time. The menu was below par, there was nothing that "stood out" for either of us - even the special of the day was "fish pie" which would be a normal for most good pub restaurants. Staff were attentive, served a "to die for white wine spritzer" the only thing I would rush back for but in view of our first experience definitely will not return.

I have been to the C & C several times so clearly enjoy the food, however on a recent visit I was really disappointed, the wine was good but not the food. I wanted to complain but didn't want to embarrass my guest. The starter was unmemorable, the rare steak was cooked more than medium, barely pink; the loin of cod was tasteless and served on a bed of Parmesan mash... if it wasn't packet mash then the chef needs to be congratulated in making real potato taste just like packet mash. The brioche bread and butter pudding was solid and the coffee chocolate pot was so large and rich I doubt many people could eat it. Come on C & C, what has happened to you?

I have really enjoyed going to the C&C for the last two years and especially enjoy the Thia Chicken Curry on a Friday night. The previous owners Will and Julie were extremely efficient if sometimes a bit stressed, but that was only because the place was 'always' busy!!

We went last evening for the first night of the new owners and although a few changes had been made, such as the outside furniture which was welcome, I was also surprised that they were changing some of the established favourites like the food and wine!! Also the new owner was a little in your face but this may calm down!!

We shall wait and see whether the changes are for the better or just all 'show'!

Chosen as a lunchtime venue the C&C was not found wanting. Food was excellent we took one of the daily specials which whilst not cheap certainly represented good value for money. It was cooked perfectly and well presented. Staff were were young but attentive, couldn't ask for much more!
