“Wonderful hotel and spa in a glorious setting”
Reviewed January 28, 2013

This is our first visit to the venue, and we visited as a couple on a leisure break. We are fortunate to have been on numerous hotel and spa breaks to many of the well known sites in the UK, but without a doubt this rates as our best experience to date.

The hotel and room was first class. We stayed in the newer block, and the room was very modern, clean and spacious. There were good facilities, and the themed bathroom with built in TV by the bath was a nice touch. The bed was very comfortable and being such a quiet site we had a great night sleep.

We spent the evening in the Ascot Bar, followed by dinner in the Brasserie. From the moment we arrived, the team in the bar did a great job of making us feel welcomed and at ease. The service was second to none, and you could tell everyone wanted to go that extra mile to ensure you enjoyed the evening. This high level of service continued throughout dinner at the Brasserie, and that, along with the excellent quality of food, made for a very pleasant evening. We would strongly recommend others try out this combination as well.

The spa break was fantastic! The site is very impressive, but there is still a sense of intimacy and plenty of attention to detail as with the hotel. Every member of staff we met were friendly and helpful, and made us feel like VIPs! We both had a really enjoyable treatment, and with plenty to do in the spa, we were able to really relax for the rest of the day. We were informed that when the weather is good, guests can also make use of the outdoor facilities, which include bike riding, golf, tennis and plenty of walking!

All in all this was truly a superb 2 days. There is clearly a sense of pride running throughout the members of staff, and this really shows in the way they look after guests, and the way that the hotel and spa have are so well looked after. We will certainly be coming back and would highly recommend this as an exclusive, luxurious and enjoyable place to stay!

Room Tip: Stay in the newer block for the more modern décor. Borrow some DVDs from reception for the evening.

Gorgeous luxury hotel with a first class Spa experience, our rooms were spacious and very comfortable and the bed was so comfortable you couldn't help but have a great night's sleep. However felt a little let down in the bar, whereby one of the ladies in our party was kept waiting a very long time for her drink, we had to ask several times before it finally arrived, and we were also kept waiting 45 minutes for our table in Latymer's, although the food & wine was incredible and the service was second to none. All in all I would highly recommend a visit, a perfect place to recharge your batteries!

My husband and I stayed at Pennyhill just after the New Year and had a wonderful time. The property is immaculate in the way it is maintained and the grounds are a delight to walk around with small attention to detail which makes a difference and what is expected at this standard. The rooms are excellent from the bedding to the very large bathrooms and rainfall showers. The turn down service in the evening was thorough with towels and toiletries replenished in addition to usual duties.

The main restaurant was not open during our stay but all the food and service we experienced was delicious and with plenty of choice. Even the spa cafe food was far superior to many London restaurants. The spa was wonderful with the thermal outside pool being the highlight. We did not stay at a busy time and we could see that maybe in busier periods some facilities could become crowded but even so there were numerous facilities on offer and as there are seven pools with different options there is more than enough choice to be thoroughly pampered. Our treatments were wonderful and the staff could not be more helpful during our whole stay. I cannot wait to return!

Room Tip: Higher rooms have better views and some are reached by a covered walkway so if this is a concern che...

My wife is a Spa member and so we had a complimentary night to use up. Following the Mirror article I was interested to find out the truth. What we had was a five star country house experience, the room was spacious and the fittings first class. The bed was extremely comfortable with pillows that I really wanted to steal. The staffing levels are not at the level I would expect if I was in the center of a city but thats not what this is about, this hotel is about feeling really relaxed and comfortable but still being able to do business if needed. The staff were very easy to deal with and quickly sorted out the only problem I had, I could not understand how the bath plug worked. WiFi was excellent and the audio visual support in the room would allow for me if I was on a working trip. I travel a lot and have stayed at my fair share of upscale hotels, suffice to say I would have been happy to pay for the room, by the way breakfast was excellent.

for a January cheer you couldn't pick a perfect place, the hotel was wonderful and the spa what can I say But as soon as we arrived the weight was lifted off and we were swept into pure bliss of the spa the ladies who did the massage were faultless. We then finished the day with stunning food and drink, effortless.

Went to Pennyhill Park on business and would certainly recommend it. Whilst a little cold in some of the meeting rooms the staff did all they could to resolve the issues and no more could be asked of them. The bedrooms are excellent; food and service very good and the Spa is great. I would definitely go there again.

Room Tip: The larger meeting rooms can be cold in the Winter months.

The Pennyhill Park website had a January overnight offer and I wanted to take my teacher daughter for a well deserved spa break. PP is somewhere I've wanted to try to years so when I saw the £199 deal I jumped at the chance.
On arriving at the spa the lovely receptionist mentioned that as the hotel was now quiet after the New Year they had upgraded us to a suite which was a great way to start! The staff couldn't have been nicer, thoroughly professional and helpful. The Michelin starred restaurant was still closed therefore the only option open to us was the Brasserie. Again the staff were extremely professional but I feel the brasserie is where there weakness is. The food was very expensive and the chef had put some weird combinations together. The starter of lobster medallions we had chosen was not only expensive but you almost needed a magnifying glass to actually find the lobster and there was such a weird flavour to the dish that we had to drink lots of water to get rid of the taste. We actually overheard the diners on the next table complaining about the same dish. Shame really. They also accidentally overcharged us - they charged us £75 for one glass of house champagne. Just as well I always check the bill. They sorted it immediately though when pointed out. There are places a short drive away in the centre of Bagshot if you prefer to eat out though.
As for the spa.....this was exactly as it should be. Absolutely fantastic. We had access to the facilities for the day included in the price but we opted to choose one treatment each. The treatments are expensive but so worth it. We felt completed pampered from start to finish and the facilities are outstanding. A spa I will definitely return to (when there are a few offers around lol).
