We visited as two couples on a Sunday afternoon. A very warm welcome the staff are very attentive. The meals are cooked fresh so yes you may wait a while but definately worth it. Lovely fresh food cooked to perfection & generous portions and a reasonable price. We cannot wait to go back. Well done to all the staff.

The second visit for us to this restaurant. We visited first time a couple of weeks ago when the food was good but the service was terrible with long waiting times for food to arrive. This time we were treating friends. We were told on arrival (7pm) that there were no Sunday roasts available, There was no soup available or no mushroom burger. This was a disappointment as on a Sunday we were all looking forward to a roast. We got over that and our friend ordered mussels which we were then told were off the menu as the Chef was not happy with their quality. I guess we should have been pleased that he had taken the time to review these and come to this conclusion. The Gents ordered starters which were fine. We ordered what we could off the menu - 2 out of four main courses were reasonably good. However the steak was very tough and the sausage and mash was okay but the cabbage was inedibile as it had not been cooked! We were then given the dessert menu. My friend and I both ordered crème brulee. A few minutes later the waitress returned to advise that they were no longer available.
A real pity that we had such a bad experience particularly as we were in effect recommending our friends to your establishment. Needless to say we will not be returning in the foreseeable future. Neil Morrisey if you read the reviews on the restaurant your put your name to then I believe it is time that you intervened!

Extremely disappointed. Arrived after pre-ordering and had a 45 minute wait for main courses. Can't say the food was bad because the pie was lovely as were all the other main courses in the party. We then ordered deserts and had a 45 minute wait again for these! My cheesecake arrived and was absolutely rock hard, and the chocolate cake portions are absolutely tiny. Couldn't even eat the cheesecake. And to top it off, there was dozens of flies that kept landing on our food whilst we were there. Will not be returning for food again as the value for money is atrocious and would have been happier going McDonald's and paying a quarter of the price.

Reasonable menu for starters, main course & dessert. Service good but food overpriced for a village pub.
