Arrived about 8pm on Sunday night after travelling for over 4 hours to be told by hotel reception they no longer serve food on weekend evenings anymore. Before I had chance to blow a fuse as it was last thing I expected the guy on reception informed me that they had a list of local takeaways that my colleagues and I could order from and hotel would supply plates, cutlery etc. This allowed us to have a meal at hotel as we were all to shattered to go searching around Tamworth looking for restaurant open on sunday night. Anyway well done to reception guy from Sunderland for being so helpful and sorting us out. Question I would ask is where on hotel website does it state no food is served on weekend night. I,ve recently stayed at other Holiday Inn express hotels and not had a problem with Sunday evening dining. Is this just local arrangement !!!! If you,re planning to stay at this hotel on weekend plan to try and find a restaurant locally or prepare for takeaway. In future I will be looking for alternative hotel in area if I have to stay on Sunday night
