“Interesting castle, but not with young children”
Reviewed May 30, 2014

The castle stands in a very well kept park area but the route to it, like many other castles, is a steep walk. We were a family, my husband and I, our daughter and her husband and son aged 2 years. We were told at the ticket office that we could not take the child's buggy into the castle which we didn't mind as we were ale to leave it in the ticket office hall for safety. However, once inside we realised why the buggy couldn't come with us. The castle although in excellent condition is not at all suitable fir those with young children. There are many steps, in narrow walkways, which are difficult to navigate for adults alone, and nearly impossible when leading or carrying a young child. I would very much recommend seeing this castle but wait until any children are at least 5 years old.

“Lovely castle”
Reviewed May 29, 2014

This is a lovely castle and ideal for young children with lots of interactive exhibits. I was a little disappointed regarding the lack of history information (it was the capital of Mercia this is hardly mentioned) but this was only a small disappointment.

“Worth a visit”
Reviewed May 28, 2014

Visited with my two boys on the bank holiday weekend. The castle is surrounded by parks which were fun filled themselves. Well kept with good activities for most ages to extend your visit and wear them out. The castle was full of fun activities and well worth a visit suitable for all ages. Educational and fun for girls and boys who love dressing up - history brought to life. Small gift shop.

“Fantastic Castle!”
Reviewed May 10, 2014 via mobile

We visited Tamworth Castle with our two young children and had a brilliant time. We were very impressed with the amount of interactive exhibits suitable for kids of all ages (lots of dress up, brass rubbings etc). We were all happily entertained for a couple of hours, well worth the money I'd say. Educational and fun, I'd highly recommend it!
