“Cheap prices, very average food. Spruced up decor but no substance”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2013 via mobile

Very hot (the atmosphere) - ladies set to 42 degrees C. The food is a throw-back to 1980s Bangladeshi-style Indian restaurants- loadsa sauce, all dishes look the same and taste similarly ( butter chicken + small coconut pieces = passanda). I dread to think what the other twenty restaurants in Tamworth are like for food that come below this in the ratings, but then it's just the beer and poppadums that are the most important thing I suppose ..

“Poor”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2013

Child unfriendly stopped for tea after a visit to Thomas land, no high chairs. Unhelpful waiters. We asked if they could serve poppadoms straight away as the children were hungry' and we got a " we don't serve poppadoms until you have ordered" we had to explain that we wanted them for the children and they did get them for us but the service was ungracious. Anything we asked for was met with eye rolls or we had to explain why we needed things in detail and none of it was taxing. For eg "Can we have four side plates for the kids as they are sharing the curry" "can we have a jug of tap water" the restaurant itself was too hot and stuffy and the food was poor and flavourless. A very poor end to a fabulous day at Thomas land magical Christmas

“About as good as it gets!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 27, 2012

Every time we visit we try something new. It's not your run of the mill curry house, its an Asian restaurant. Service is truly excellent, with a stunning menu that offers both old time classics and modern fusion dishes. The interior is modern and creates a super atmosphere. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

“Great food and service at a brilliant price”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 1, 2012

There are 3 Indians restaurants with in a 5 minute walk and on a business trip we choose this one.

The price tempted us In pickles and papadoms, a starter, main and either rice or Naan for £8.95.

There was plenty to choose from and to be fair if I had been charge double I wouldnt have complained.

On a Wednesday night we had to wait for a seat but we were given a menu to mull over.

The staff were attentive and kept asking us if we wanted drinks and checking our food was good.

“not curry as i know it”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 10, 2012

I had a "curry" last night. What a disappointment. The starter was terrible. The meat was like rubber. The main course a chicken balti was the worst i have ever had. The sauce was bland , just a tomato and onion mush! No curry taste. The peshwari naan was plain!
Not a place i want to return to and i wouldnt reccommend .
