“Handy for Staffordshire Showground”
Reviewed February 14, 2013

We stayed the night before a dog show on a VERY snowy day in January. A warm reception for us and the dogs too. Wonderful large and comfy beds and lashings of hot water. Slept well and found the car park and footpaths had been kept free of snow so that we made our getaway without any hitches

Room Tip: Must remember to ask for a ground floor room if possible when we have dogs with us!!

The room was cleans and comftable and the manageress was very helpful and friendly. As a budget overnight stay it was good. The downside was the lack of facilities on site, whilst there was a couple if restaurants across from the hotel they closed around 9.00 o'clock , which meant a trip to the next services for something to eat.
Next morning I had breakfast in the restaurant in the services which was expensive for a poor breakfast, to the extent that had I have known I would have had breakfast elsewhere.
Overall the hotel offered a cheap but comftable stop but be prepared to eat elsewhere.

Very friendly and helpful young lady in Reception looked up a local pub on the tinternet and printed out details.Good nights sleep in comfortable bed half way up M6 can't fault it!
The pub we went to was about 15 mins drive but you have to come back via the Stoke on Trent junction which takes a bit longer because you have to go north to get on M6 southbound to get back to the services.
The pub is the Saracens Head,Weston, near Stafford ST18 0HT. Good food and real ale. Friendly service

We stayed, with dogs the night before a dog show, there were quite a few dogs staying at the hotel. The receptionist who checked us in was very helpful. We had booked into a double with sofa bed, and were given a room with 2 doubles. We immediately asked to be changed, as the rooms with 2 doubles have less floor space for putting up the dogs kennels. We were given the keys to another room, with apologies.
The room was clean and tidy and the bathroom was clean. There was only 1 teabag and 1 coffee sachet per person, however this didn't bother us, as we take our own teabags and milk, and there are places onsite where you get any shopping you need.
The staff we saw in the morning were also friendly and cheerful. I would happily stay here again
