My son Adam and his wife Sam( plus our granddaughter Esme ) took my wife Glenys and myself for lunch here following a brisk walk at nearby Cannock chase. It was excellent. The lunch was two for £10 and it offered a wide choice not the usual one's you would expect. The hand cut chips were outstanding but the rest of the food was very good. Service was quick and friendly. The only downside was that Glenys thought it was a bit cold-although I found it quite pleasant.
A find that we will definitely visit again.

Had a beautiful sunday lunch here. It really was fab. The leg of lamb was to die for. Very tender. Starters of mushrooms on toasted bread were also lovely. As were the cheesecake desserts. Everything was clearly homemade and delicious! We were sat upstairs which was quite cold really and in need of new tables and chairs which were very dated...now the worst bit.. The service was appalling. We were there for 2 and a quarter hours just for lunch. The starters came on time but the mains were very slow at coming..The desserts were even slower. We were about to get up and ask for the bill when they finally arrived. The young girl who served us though was very pleasant. I dont know what the problem was. Then when we had our bill we were overcharged just over £10 for drinks what we didnt have. This was rectified at the till though. All in in we really enjoyed our meal and I would definitely recommend it. But something needs to be done about the service. And check your bill.

We booked a festive meal in September. Checking several times since that date, that they still had the booking and did they require a deposit. Assured we didn't, we arrived for 7.30 to be told off for arriving half an hour late. We were seated in the restaurant, not the upstairs function space and had to choose our food from the ordinary menu, when we were expecting crackers and Turkey! The service was extremely slow. It took over 2 hours for us to complete our meal. The food that we had was lovely, but we had booked a Christmas night out and were disappointed not to receive this.
