Owner description: Blithbury Reindeer Lodge, nestled in the heart of Staffordshire, is home to England's largest working Reindeer herd. Over 150 Reindeer roam freely across our beautiful 30-acre site, which opens to the public for special events throughout the year. We are the only place in the country where visitors can see, fuss and even feed so many Reindeer of varying ages and types; from babies and young calves, to sleigh-pullers and our incredibly tame show Reindeer, many of whom are stars of the small and big screen. Christmas at Blithbury Reindeer Lodge is a unique and magical experience. With hot chocolate, mince pies, an authentic sleigh ride pulled by our specially trained Reindeer and, of course, a visit to Santa, where else would you want to visit at Christmas time? We're not just for Christmas though as we open our gates for special events throughout the year. From meet the babies events to Reindeer handling and family fun days, we offer something completely different to traditional farms and zoos.

This trip was really hyped by the reviews I had seen so when we went I wasn't disappointed but neither was I totally over thrilled. On a scale of 1-100 I would say I was 80% happy.

The parking was oversubscribed which to no fault of the staff there, they had to result in finding somewhere else to park. Staff were excellent though, very lovely people and all with a happy smile on their face. The staff really are a credit here.

You enter via the shop which is a nightmare trying to keep children away from goodies and it gets so busy in there. My details were found easily though and it was a smooth transition into the grounds.

I loved seeing the reindeer and it was obvious they are well looked after - they are beautiful creatures. Toilets were lovely and as the park is small they are easily accessible.

My only gripe was with queues. We had a pre booked slot to see santa which ran very smoothly. But for us to reach the other attractions we had to wait over 30 minutes each for the sleigh ride and the photograph with sven. When we started moving in one queue, we were called to our next time slot booking and had to re join later. it doesn't seem that long but when its bitter and you have 2 excited kids it can seem an age. We even queued for 20 minutes in the coffee shop to literally move one step forward, and there was no where to sit. We went back later on in the day for our drinks.

So overall it was a lovely half a day out but the queuing didn't help.

Staff were amazing and really helped with requirements though

It was my grandsons 3rd birthday and from the very 1st moment it was a magical experience all my grandson kept saying was wow. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and the reindeer were beautiful and amazingly tame. My grandson enjoyed feeding petting and eve and even kissing them. He enjoyed a sleigh ride and went to elf school where he learnt about Santa and sang songs with the elves. He then met Father Christmas who was really convincing and my grandson left feeling magical. All in all a massive thank you guys at the Reindeer farm for making Jaydens birthday and Christmas so special. Would recommend anyone with younger children to visit as its also great value for money almost £7 for anybody not visiting Santa and just under £10 if the kids do. Have a great time if you go hope the magic works for you better to book if you wanna see Santa just in case.

We arrived at what must have been the busiest time of their day, the shop where we were to collect our tickets was packed to the rafters, nonetheless, the staff were attentive and made you feel most welcome, you certainly didn't feel rushed or unwelcome.
I was most impressed by the understated simplicity of the place - it was exactly the right atmosphere and there were just about the right amount of things to do and see without being brash and flashy and 'in your face'.
The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and took a genuine interest in the children wherever you went.
Average queue times for the Frozen photo and sleigh ride were about twenty minutes. You are allotted a time to see Santa along with a group of about twenty other children. When your time comes you visit Elf School to learn how reindeer fly, and as the class goes on the children get called through to see Santa. Santa is a lovely man, very genuine. After seeing Santa you get to go through to the workshop for a sneak peek at the presents they haven't wrapped yet, and take your pick.
Other activities available include feeding the many beautiful reindeer, story time and cake decorating with Mrs Claus, the sleigh ride and the family photo, all of which went on for long enough to maintain the children's interest and enthusiasm!
We had a lovely afternoon, and are very grateful to Santa and the staff for making us feel so welcome!

I would like to praise the facilities and staff of the lodge. When we arrived at the centre it was fairly busy in the shop but the staff apologise and was very helpful and giving us great guidance of the facilities. The reindeers looked well kept and the moss we fed them was well worth the 3 kids we took enjoyed feeding them.

We then saw santa after entering the elf school which we did not return and again santa was really good and the presents given, ok they werent Hamleys but definately not cheap nor nasty and plus giving them choice.

All the kids had frozen pics and again thank you to photographers who shown amazing paitence. We did have to wait for the sleigh rides but that was due to one family having 10 goes at the same time so the staff werent to blame. Mrs Claus read a great story plus all the elves were helpful.

The whole experience was trully amazing and it appears that the feedback on issues they had last year, have been addressed and its credit to the staff and owners for a magical day. Thank you

We have just returned from a lovely Christmassy afternoon at Blithbury Reindeer Lodge. Our journey began with a warm welcome in the reception/little Christmas shop where we brought a cup of Moss (£1) to feed the reindeer. We then walked around the reindeer pens and fed the baby reindeer as well as learning about these lovely creatures. Next we went into the Frozen barn where there was an opportunity to have your picture taken with characters from the Disney movie. The children sat and wrote a letter to Santa and posted it in the posting box. Next we moved through the barn to sit by a roaring real fire and listen to a story read by Mrs Christmas. After this the children had the opportunity to decorate some cakes sat at long benches. The queuing system to see Santa was excellent - we went in to the Elves Workshop and the children sat on little chairs and listened to two friendly elves tell then about Christmas Eve. The chief Elf then called the children by name to see Santa at the time booked. Santa was friendly and relaxed - he spent lots of time talking to the children and handled questions by a curious seven year old with ease. Photographs were permitted and there were little logs for the children to sit on next to Santa. After the visit children came out into the toy area and were allowed to choose a gift. The gifts were good quality and there was no rush - the Elf in this area was happy for the children to have a good look around. We then had a cup of tea and piece of cake in the little café before going for our sleigh ride.
This is a really genuine Christmas experience. There is very little commercialism - the staff were really friendly and helpful and genuinely wanted us to have a lovely time - even at 6pm in the dark and cold the guys who were running the sleigh rides were still laughing and chatty.
I would thoroughly recommend this experience to families (with kids of all ages - ours ranged from 3 - 15) who are looking for a relaxed and enjoyable Christmas afternoon out.
