Ye Olde Dun Cow Inn
Ranked #4 of 9 Rugeley B&B and Inns
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed June 23, 2008

We visited Colton for the History Society book launch; a friend in the village suggested we stay at Ye Olde Dun Cow for the night. We arrived at the pub a lot earlier than I had advised them to expect us but they were ready for us. We received a very warm welcome from the bar staff and were immediately shown to our room to settle in.
We had booked a double ensuite and found ourselves in a massive airy room with both a large double bed and a single. The ensuite bathroom was nearly as large again, with a deep corner bath! Given a set of keys to the B&B area we were free to come and go as we pleased. In very peaceful surroundings we had an excellent night's sleep.
The pub has a very clean and comfortable restaurant area and our evening meal was freshly cooked and delicious. Breakfast was served in the same restaurant and we were offered the full range from cereals to full English breakfast, again freshly cooked and served with piping hot tea and coffee.
The room was nicely decorated and very clean and tidy with a full tray of tea and coffee making ingredients. The bathroom had the whole range of complimentary toiletries and the towels were a good size. Staff were very friendly, as was the resident manager-dog.
All in all excellent value for money and highly recommended!

We staid at the Ye Olde Dun Cow Inn on Saturday 31st May 2008. A friend of ours was getting married and as Staffordshire is a good 40mins away from where we live, we decided to book up at this little guest house, which i stumbled across through Yel.com ~ we were able to check in at 1pm & received a friendly welcome. The place it's self is also a pub with log fires & beer garden, so pretty to look at. Our room was clean & spacious with en suite, the bed was incredibly comfy and we only had to pay £55 for a double room, including breakfast
If ever we arer over that way again, i will stay there again with no hesitation and fully reccomend it to anyway needing a plcae to stay if you are over Rugeley Staffordshire way.
