We went here for lunch with small children on market day so it was quite busy. It seems like a popular place and I can understand why.
The staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating. There was a box of toys for children to play with to keep them amused. The tea was served in a vintage teapot with cups and saucers and tasted delicious. All of our food was freshly prepared and home made. The cakes looked divine and next I visit I shall look forward to trying one.

We called in here on a visit to Leek, directed by the tripadvisor recommendation. We were not disappointed; lovely coffee, tea & fresh scones with jam & cream, all served on mismatched vintage china. We were tempted by the tasty looking cakes, & could see the proprietor baking in the back, so knew it was all freshly & locally baked. They also do fantastic looking celebration cakes. I'd much rather support a young local independent business than one of the ubiquitous chains....we will seek this out for lunch on our next visit.

After a long walk my wife and myself call at the Cupcake Café, we had one of the specials “Parma ham, Black olive and Pepper Flan” with new potatoes and salad, it was delicious, and enough tea to satisfy the larges thirst, we always go there if we are in Leek !

We stopped in Leek looking for a cafe at random for a cup of tea and as we wandered past an alleyway, a stranger recommended Cupcake Cafe. We had a clotted cream tea for two - fruit scones (freshly made by Cupcake Cafe), clotted cream, strawberry jam and a massive pot of tea - all for £5. Unbeatable value and really tasty - especially the scones! The cakes (also baked in-house) looked delicious, but alas, after the cream tea there was no more room. The lunchtime menu looked both modern and local with many tempting dishes. Highly recommended.
