Popped in for lunch on a day trip to Leek. Doesn't look anything special from the outside but we gave it a go as it seemed to have plenty of customers. We really liked it - lovely spacious room with stained glass windows, delicious Staffordshire oatcakes, very friendly service and truly spectacular cakes. We walked our lunch off at the RSPB reserve down the road. Would definitely come back here if in the area again

Dear Ashenhurst

Thank you so much for taking the time to review the White Hart Tea Room on Trip Advisor. We're delighted you enjoyed your time with us.

Glad you enjoyed your food. The oatcakes are locally bought and our cakes are made here on the premises (often by the wonderful Deb) - so we're really pleased to read you had a great time and would come again.

The building is listed, so sadly we can't do anything with the exterior, but we're glad that didn't deter you from stepping inside!

We do hope to welcome you again next time you're in the area. Perhaps try a different cake next time?!

Kind regards

I've never visited this tea room before. I was pleased with this tea room and I imagine its a good b&b. the menu looked nice.
We had breakfast here and it was good quality and piping hot.
It would be nicer to have a few more breakfast options as well as the usual full English.

We also have breakfast baps or sandwiches (various fillings and also gluten free bread), oatcakes, Eggs Benedict, Crumpets, Egg on toast.

We always want to improve service and any feedback is always gratefully received. We like to accommodate customer requirements so if there's something else you'd like to see on the menu would you mind letting us know?

A lovely little all day restaurant. They introduced me to the charm of cheese and bacon oatcakes for which I will forever be in their debt.

They seem to be homely and have a wide wholsome menu. Great place for families and passing tourists etc.

Dear br00kd

Thank you so much for your review. It's our absolute pleasure to have introduced you to the North Staffordshire delicacy of oatackes. I'm sorry that they're so moreish; cheese and bacon in popular but if you fancy going vegetarian we can also recommend cheese and tomato or cheese and mushroom!

Sorry if we've made you hungry. Hope to see you again soon.

One night stay was very enjoyable. Great food, nice room and very friendly staff. Pubs, bars and restaurants on the doorstep and a good market in the square opposite. Would definately recommend. Great, thanks!

My husband and I stayed here for one night whilst visiting family.
Location: Excellent. Close walking distance to shops, eateries, pubs, etc and right opposite one of Leek's small uncovered car parks.
Tea Shop: Excellent tea/coffee/hot choc and scrummy cakes. Lemon cheesecake v good. Portions HUGE! Couldn't finish - seriously could have been halved and I'd have been happy.
Room: Up a couple of flights of stairs so a bit of a pain with luggage. Basic but comfortable - a bit like a Travelodge but less 'corporate'. Our room was set up as a king-size bed upon request (two singles linked). Room & linens were spotlessly clean.
Bathroom: Disappointing. Small shower cubicle with curtain rather than screen and the large shower head (nice try to add a bit of luxury) didn't stay in place so had to keep holding or moving it - far from ideal. Spotlessly clean though.
Breakfast: Yummy. V small choice of cold items but Full English had good quality ingredients and was very tasty. Friendly service too.
Overall: For £85 a night I'd say it was ok value but would expect slightly better bathroom for that money in this location.
Would I stay here again? Yes, if I was in the area, but would probably request a different room or ask about the bathroom when booking.

Room Tip: Ask whether the bathroom has a bath / has a shower curtain if these things bother you.

I stayed at the White Hart for 2 nights, March 11 / 12 for a wedding at The Ashes. The bride-to-be made the recommendation. Don't be deceived by the modest exterior. The sleeping rooms have been recently upgraded and were spotlessly clean and modern. The owner is super friendly and went out of her way to ensure my stay was a pleasant one. I'd travelled overseas for the wedding, so the welcome I received made all the difference. The breakfast was super yummy. Transportation to and from the wedding was included in the rate. Terrific value for money.

We stayed for 1 night at this B&B as we were at a wedding in leek (at the ashes). The White Hart is a perfect B&B for a reasonably priced overnight stay. Room was clean and tidy, with all the things you would expect. Owners were very friendly and helpful, even arranging transport to and from the wedding venue for us. We had a lovely leisurely breakfast the following morning before check out. Would recommend this place!
