A beautiful setting, with a bar and numerous lounges, sometimes used for weddings/receptions. Overlooking Rudyard Lake on the leek to manchester road, take the turning by the Ruyard sign and narrow gaugeTrains on/off today. Lovely set out restaurant, fabulous staff, 3 roasts on and loads of different vegetables to compliment the meal, gorgeous gravy, and various condiments to compliment it all, (horse radish, cranberry, etc), plates are a good size also. A lovely green garden area with ample seating and a patio area. The car parking is sufficient for over 60 cars, only one disabled place which is normally taken up with a big 4x4, but upon asking at reception usually gets moved. After a fully satisfying meal a walk beside the Lake is a must. Oh the cost is £3-95 pp for meal monday to saturday, sundays £4-95 and is available 12 noon till 2100, check in winter months if open Mondays, because sometimes a private party ( coach mystery tours and OAP's outings) takes an advanced reservation. All in all a thoroughly great venue.

My son and I decided to take a stroll around Rudyard lake today and then drive to Leek and gat some lunch. I had parked by Rudyard Hotel and just before driving off we decided to give their carvery a go. We were a little lost when we walked into the building but were quickly guided to the bar and a very nice, polite young lady explained that we paid at the bar then could help ourselves to the food and either sit in the main restaurant or bring the food out and sit in the bar. The tables were already laid out with cutlery so we sat in the lovely restaurant. We both had ham which was delicious and there were Green beans, carrots, cauliflower, swedes, cabbage, boiled potatoes, roast potatoes, peas and turnips to choose from so we had the lot. Lots cut this short now and just use four words FANTASTIC VALUE.and SERVICE

We went her as friedns reccommend, and we were not disappointed at all. Lots of varieties of meat and Vegetables, lots of tables and a large bar. Very resonable price. Lovely staff, atmosphere and great central location. There is a nice lake near by as well for walking.

The carvery is excellent value for money, but it's an awfull place packed out with pensioners and coach parties and stank, dont even consider going untill about 3.30 p.m when it will be quiet and you can enjoy a meal without noisey kids and people coughing over your shoulder.

Have been here a couple of times and the carvery at lunchtime is unbelievably cheap (£3.95 at time of last visit). Having said that it was a bit "catering" rather than " home cooked" but there was nothing wrong with it and it was quite tasty. Ok, but that's about all.
