Hazel's Bed and Breakfast
Ranked #9 of 18 Leek B&B and Inns
Reviewed November 1, 2011

Stayed at Hazel's B&B as we were going to a wedding at Heaton House Farm. Hazel runs the B&B and it was with her that I booked the room a number of weeks ago. She was very friendly on the phone and a very welcoming host when we arrived. 59 Wesftields is a big old house on the back streets of Leek. Not sure how many rooms there are (4 I think) but we had an en suite one on the first floor. It was spacious and immaculate. There was even a walk in wardrobe!

We got a cab to and from Heaton House Farm which was £12 each way. It’s only a 15-20 minute journey from Hazel’s so it was a perfect affordable base to go to the wedding.

The breakfast was absolutely brilliant (fruit salad, toast & cereal followed by sausage, bacon, scrambled egg and grilled tomatoes). I had the hangover from hell and it sorted me out a treat. Hazel was very easy going and wasn’t in a hurry to get us out the room which we left at about 10.30-11am. Westfields is quite a narrow road so there’s nowhere to park on the street itself but there is 1 space for guests (usually 2 but the next door neighbours scaffolding stopped us from using it this time). Other than that it’s a great spot. The little touches in the room like chocolate bars, bottles of water & cartons of juice are an added bonus! Hopefully we’ll be back.

Room Tip: Ask for the en suite at the front of the house on the first floor. It's ace. Not sure if the oth...
