Stayed at Hazel's B&B as we were going to a wedding at Heaton House Farm. Hazel runs the B&B and it was with her that I booked the room a number of weeks ago. She was very friendly on the phone and a very welcoming host when we arrived. 59 Wesftields is a big old house on the back streets of Leek. Not sure how many rooms there are (4 I think) but we had an en suite one on the first floor. It was spacious and immaculate. There was even a walk in wardrobe!
We got a cab to and from Heaton House Farm which was £12 each way. It’s only a 15-20 minute journey from Hazel’s so it was a perfect affordable base to go to the wedding.
The breakfast was absolutely brilliant (fruit salad, toast & cereal followed by sausage, bacon, scrambled egg and grilled tomatoes). I had the hangover from hell and it sorted me out a treat. Hazel was very easy going and wasn’t in a hurry to get us out the room which we left at about 10.30-11am. Unfortunately we couldn’t stay longer but we highly recommend Hazel’s if you’re going to a wedding at Heaton House Farm or visiting Leek or even the Peak District.
Hazel doesn’t take card payment unfortunately (but she made us aware of this prior to our arrival) and at the time there was no parking so we had to park by the church round the corner. Westfields is quite a narrow road so there’s nowhere to park on the street itself but there is 1 space for guests (usually 2 but the next door neighbours scaffolding stopped us from using it this time). Other than that it’s a great spot. The little touches in the room like chocolate bars, bottles of water & cartons of juice are an added bonus! Hopefully we’ll be back.
