“Nice carvery But-----------”
Reviewed December 28, 2013

Nice carvery now £4.95 BUT here comes the sting £2.80 for half a Pepsi , that makes it £5.60 per pint, ouch, have water instead and don't get ripped off. ( don't know if they charge for tap water ). Must agree bar staff are miserable.

My partner and I spending a week in the Peaks. On one walk met a couple from Stoke-on-Trent who recommended a walk around Rudyard Reservoir and suggested we try the Carvery at the Rudyard Hotel as it was "good value" We did the walk and thoroughly enjoyed it. At the end of the walk tired and hungry we stopped at the Rudyard Hotel as recommended. The Carvery was "good value" although we decided to have something else from the menu. The food was ok as was the service. Cannot comment on the price of Ale as we had soft drinks. The restaurant area was pleasant enough and the views were lovely. Nice place to stop after a good long walk.

We will go back because carvary waa good value but will be drinking water as i WILL NOT be paying 3.60 for a pint of pepsi again..... Didnt stay so mark for rooms is score for bar rooms ect. The place was clean but toilets could do with being modernised. Bar staff was miserable as sin and didnt seem to care. My 12 year old niece was served an alcoholic drink. (which she was told of my be for buying but still id shouod have been asked for) food good value everything else pretty much poor as.

Staying in rudyard lake lodges along the road from the hotel was worried when I seen the £3.95 price for a carvery usually too good to be true sort of deal but how wrong was I! Beautiful tender meat and excellent veg! Couldn't find fault with it. A bit pricey for soft drinks but with value like the carvery you couldn't argue. Excellent.

Stayed here on our way south, thought the hotel looked quite impressive from the outside and lovely setting, will agree that there is no reception and thought no staff.taken to our rooms which were ok but cold thought it might heat up after dinner, which was the most disgusting food I have eaten thought there was a misprint at first at the price seemed too cheap but that was exactly what we got and breakfast wasn't any better in fact couldn't wait to get away. What a shame because the setting is lovely but will not be back.

We had our wedding here this month and it was amazing, the hotel is located in a beautiful setting, the food was lovely, some of the guests thought that the soft drinks were a little dear to buy at the bar but otherwise everyone said they had a fantastic time. Rachel, the wedding planner, was wonderful and couldn't do enough for us to make our day special, staying up late the night before because we had a few technical hitches at home, but made the room beautiful for us, there was a wonderful relaxed atmosphere and the staff couldn't do enough to help us and our guests, and the bridal suite was beautiful
