Description: We would like to welcome you to the Fitzherbert Arms of Swynnerton. The restoration of the Fitzherbert Arms, our lovely village pub, was a joint venture between Lord Francis Stafford and pub entrepreneurs Mary Mclaughlin and Tim Bird who own a number of award-winning pubs and bars in Cheshire, Staffordshire (us!) and Dorset. We offer home cooked, flavoursome and wholesome food cooked freshly by our kitchen team, a great array of local Staffordshire and Cheshire cask ales across five pumps which are always selected from breweries within a 35 mile radius of our pub. Try our Swynnerton Stout brewed at Titanic Brewery here in Staffordshire or our Fitzherbert Best Bitter brewed just over the 'border' in Cheshire by Weetwood. We also have a real cider pump to enjoy. We offer over 30 different Ports and a well selected wine list with 16 different wines by the glass that cater for all tastes. All our food and drinks can be found via the 'food and drink' links. We look forward to welcoming everyone to our beautiful English pub.

Village pub a couple of miles outside Eccleshall.
We have eaten here three times over the last few months, and it has been consistently good.
It is quite a large building and although we have always eaten in the bar there is also a separate dining room.
They generally have two sometimes three real ales on (been different ones each visit) and I've always found them to be in good condition.
The landlord is friendly and seems to be very involved in what goes on in the kitchen. Quality meat and large portions seem to be the mainstay of the menu. I'm guessing he may be an ex-butcher (although this is purely speculation!).
It isn't the cheapest pub for food but you do get what you pay for.
Worth supporting as this pub has seen periods of closure and it is encouraging that they now have a landlord with the capability to make it work.

“Very enjoyable”
Reviewed August 6, 2013

Haven’t been to the Fitzherbert for some time but decided to try it out while in the area.

We were made very welcome by the landlord and given menus.

There is a lovely choice; a majority all home made, including various curries, beer battered cod, steaks, gammon and a great selection of burgers together with some vegetarian dishes.

We were served quickly and the food was well presented with delicious home made chips.

All in all very good value; will return again soon!
