Four of us went for an evening meal using a Travelzoo offer. The establishment is a pleasantly modernised village pub.We travelled on country roads with heavy agricultural traffic and one route blocked by a lorry with it’s tractor in the soft verge. The car park was almost full and we entered via the well patronised bar under scrutiny by the assembled locals.
The restaurant is a tasteful extension looking on to the car park.
The hostess was welcoming ,friendly and efficient
The food was upper end pub food catering for all tastes. The pork starter, fish and chips ,,vegetarian options, curry, and jam roly poly were voted good The sole disappointment was the tempura prawn starter voted a non event and rather dry and characterless .The drinks menu was good and the coffee excellent.
With the heavy discount the meal was excellent value .Charged at full rates it would have rated above average for this type of eating place
