“Disappointing”
Reviewed November 4, 2012

Had dinner with friends here on Friday evening. The starters of antipasti, olives and bread were delicious, however we were all very disappointed with our main course. Meatballs without any sauce, a Pizza that was barely cooked, a carbonara, again dry and a Cannelloni that was OK. The Manager was apologetic. The beer and Italian wines by the glass however were excellent. The restaurant itself if very pleasant, the waiting staff friendly. If we were to go again, we would just do plenty of antipasti and a bottle of wine.

“Absolutely Fab service & top quality food”
Reviewed October 11, 2012

I have been going to The Bridge for a couple of years now when visiting family in Barton and coming up for the weekend from London. Firstly in response to another review on here... £10 is not expensive for a freshly made pizza and your average take away pizza costs more than this. Top notch London restaurants do not charge less than this.
The food at The Bridge is fresh, well made and always of a high standard. Service is prompt.
The atmosphere is lovely and in the winter the fire creates an extra ambience and the staff are always friendly and attentive.
I would strongly recommend the Spaghetti Carbonara and the white profiteroles are to die for.
If you are looking for some where to wine, dine or just relax, this is the place. I visit a lot of pubs, restaurants and bars on a daily basis through working in the drinks industry and I would highly recommend this to all of my customers when in the area.

“fantastic”
Reviewed September 28, 2012

i could not disagree more with what some reviews have said. the pub and kitchen (from what i saw) were very clean, the staff were very friendly without standing over you and the food was excellent. i recommend booking as it is a smaller restaurant with many regulars so finding a table during sunny weather or at peak times is difficult, but not impossible. i had the scallops linguine and it was one of the best i have ever had. i also recommend the pizzas, fresh and brilliantly made. i did hear someone complain whilst i was there but they were complaining that the restaurant wasn't bigger-hard to fix in the middle of a Saturday dinner shift, but the staff handled it well.
overall i could not improve this place, by far my favourite eat out spot, though do remember to book.

“Good Italian food, real ale, and a beer garden by the canal”
Reviewed May 31, 2012 via mobile

We were a party of 8 eating at 7.00 on a Wednesday evening. The pub was full of people eating, and some tables outside too were occupied. Service was okay, and the owner was very pleasant. A smile from the waitress and barman would have been nice. Food was good, with all our party ( including Italians ) enjoying the meal. Deserts were a bit haphazard as several were out of stock, including Tiramasu. The pub is an old quaint canal side pub, very pleasant, with a beer garden safe for children. Table booking is advisable. £15 a head for drinks, main course, and desert is good value. So much better than eating in nearby chain restaurants.

“Disappointing”
Reviewed May 17, 2012

Couldn't agree more with albionfan69, the food was very ordinary. Meal for four with a bottle of wine costing £74. Garlic bread for starters looked like fried bread with hardly a hint of garlic. I had cannelloni that didn't contain meat but something that reminded me of couscous - very bland.
Didn't bother with a sweet on the strength of it.
