“Sunday Lunch at its best”
Reviewed July 28, 2013

It had been a while since we last visited the Old Vicarage, but the warm welcome on arrival was no surprise. First actions were to relax in the lounge area with a drink and the menu, after a while we were asked for our selections (excellent, unobtrusive service here). We were then taken into the dining room and our starters brought through, wow I forgot how good the food is here! Although the menu changes every Sunday, I have to mention my starter Oyster Mushrooms & Chorizo in a white wine sauce and main course Slow Roast Belly Pork these were outstanding.

This is a great place for a visit, where you can relax and experience great food and service, long may it continue.

“Good to return”
Reviewed July 28, 2013

It was nice to return here after quite a long period . We went for Sunday lunch ,rather late for us ,,but we had quite away to travell so the lateness fitted in just fine. We ordered drinks and sat just lounging for quite awhile ,food order taken ,the restaurant was full ,but the staff were as we remembered, very professional in their work ,and at no time did we feel rushed ,which is a most important part of any meal. The starters melon and, chicken and bacon Terrine ,both very nice. The mains slow cooked pork ,and confit of duck which I had always wanted to try ,and I have to say was not disappointed ,it was cooked perfectly ,the meal was served with a selection of vegetables ,the only down side was the carrots were a little under cooked, but that's my opinion .
Sweet was raspberry cheese cake. Although it was quite warm. Inside Pascal had the doors and windows open ,so a nice cooling breeze was flowing through the restaurant ..
We would like to thank Karen & Pascal and the staff for a lovely lunch ,let's hope it's not as long for the next visit. THANK YOU !!!

“Sons 21st”
Reviewed July 18, 2013

Another fine visit with 10 friends and family to celebrate sons 21st.
Food exceptional and service faultless as ever.
Only downside was there was no air in the conservatory and was so warm.
Took coffee in the garden which was lovely.

“Totally brilliant!”
Reviewed July 11, 2013

I took my mother here on Tuesday for her birthday treat, as always food/atmosphere/service & price were second to non! From arrival we were treated politely/attentively & shown outside to the patio area for our pre meal drinks in the sunshine. After being seated(near open French doors as requested) we had three fabulous courses. David is so polite (which is nice to see) & Leigh so attentive it's hard not to want a revisit! After paying the bill & some friendly banter with Leigh we left what was a lovely evening with great food. See you next month
