“Not bad, nothing to sing about”
Reviewed September 26, 2013

This is a decent place visit. If you want to go to Barton Marina (which is a nice walk, with a shop that sells really good ice-cream) it's fine to stop in for a drink. Nice views over the Marina, assuming you like looking at canal boats. I have not ever ordered food there, menu looks expensive for what it is

“Nice pub, could be amazing”

Location and view is fantastic. Not huge choice of menu. Very good food. Not very welcoming/attentive service on arrival.

“Absolutely stunning!”
Reviewed September 23, 2013

One of the nicest afternoons I have ever had. Lovely view across the water with boats etc. Had a Sunday lunch in the Pub on the waterfront and had a browse around the quaint little shops. Really lovely afternoon. Stunning views, beautiful little shops, sumptuous meal in the pub. You really need to check this place out as it is a little gem hidden away!!

Food was superb and served quite quickly seeing how busy it was. Plently of seating in a variety of areas around the pub so you don't feel on top of each other at the next table. Lovely and warm, cosy and well laid out. We all (7 of us) had the Sunday roast apart from my dad who went for Fish and Chips. The meat came out on a plate with 3 large dishes of several vegetables to share. I don't eat meat so I had the substitute. Very filling, well cooked, perfect. Dad's fish and chips were wrapped in fake newspaper in a n old rustic style and he loved it. All of us were full, satisfied and very pleased. Was a little expensive but exactly the right price for where it was and the quality of the food.

Really well worth a drive out to the marina, plenty to keep you occupied for a few hours. Lovely

“Disgraceful!”
Reviewed September 15, 2013 via mobile

Booked table for Sunday lunch-waited almost an hour and a half for our meal, when it eventually arrived 3 of the meals were virtually inedible. Pie crust of one was burned, the 'medium rare' beef of another was overcooked even for 'well done', the loin of pork from a third meal was tough and dry, roast potatoes were so hard and overcooked that a knife could not cut through them and the gravy tasted burned. When we complained the reason given for the long wait for food was because 2 people had ordered starters! When we complained about the quality of the food one person was offered a replacement pie but as we all needed to get home sometime that evening we didn't fancy another hour and a half wait for a replacement! The manageress appeared not to understand why we were complaining and eventually said she would 'look at the bill' We were offered a meagre 10% off the total which all things considered was an insult!

“Extremely poor!!”
Reviewed September 12, 2013

Me and my family visited the waterfront pub on a Sunday for some Sunday lunch. We ordered drinks, starters and main meals. We had our drinks and after waiting over 30 minutes we had our very over priced starters (prawn cocktails £5.75) come on!! And then after that we waited over an hour and a half for still nothing. We waited way too long for our meals we told the manager that we were going to eat some where else that actually serves you the food you order. We would never go to the waterfront pub again as it is massively over priced the service is terrible you would get 10 times better service at McDonalds. The waterfront pub definitely needs to sort them selves out as they say they are a fantastic pub but the only thing I found fantastic was leaving to go eat some where else!! Also I emailed the waterfront pub a number of times letting them know our issues we had with our visit and nobody has replied which says it all really bad management bad service bad pub!!!
