“quick drink”

Just swung by for a drink with friends. Good atmosphere. Variety of outdoor seating. Some good views across the lakes and other interesting vistas over the Marina. Pity about the noise from the A 38 in the background.

“Awful, Overpriced and Staff Unhelpful”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 28, 2013

Thought we would visit here on Bank Hol Monday.

Perfect Location for a pub, nice and relaxing seating area.

Food = AWFUL

Ordered 3 Sandwiches and 3 cokes (Came to £25!).

Sandwich 1 - BLT
Bread was buttered way to much, couldnt taste anything else.
1 piece of cold fatty bacon on the sandwich and loads and loads of lettuce.

Sandwich 2 - Beef
Beef was uncooked and vile.
To add to this the string that was wrapped around apparently for cooking was in the middle of the sandwich!

Best bit is after numerous times of trying to flag down a member of staff we finally got the attention of one of the young lads whose response was 'The manager said that the string is there because we put that around when cooking, sorry' and then just walked off.

Would not recommend anyone visits here, expensive and not worth the money.

“A Great Evening”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 25, 2013

I visited this pub for the first time Saturday evening 24th August 2013 with my wife and two friends and what a great night we had. The pub was busy when we arrived and I thought we would be in for the usual tiresome wait at the bar to get served however, I was very pleasantly surprised by how many bar staff were on duty and the choice of drinks on offer. Once we decided what we wanted, we were served immediately by a very pleasant young man and were even asked if we were waiting by one of his colleagues. Drinks in hand, we were shown to our pre-booked table and given menus. The waiting on staff were very pleasant and patient with us while we chose our meals. Our first course arrive and the only negative of the evening was the "Artisan" bread served with the olives - plentiful but nothing more than a selection of mediocre breads from the local supermarket. We were served our main courses and were asked if we wanted more drinks to be served at the table which brought us much amusement. Our party of four consisted of one Welshman, one Cockney and two Geordie women and trying to get the waitress to understand what we wanted was very funny indeed. The atmosphere in the pub was very pleasant, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and the customers were very friendly. We finished our meal then the music started and if the band had to be described by one word, BRILLIANT would do it exactly!! There was not one off note by the singers or musicians, the range played suited everyone and judging by the number of people dancing in whatever area they could, I'm not the only one who appreciated the entertainment.
To sum up the experience, atmosphere 10/10; drinks 10/10; staff 10/10; entertainment 10/10 and food 7/10. Would I return? Well, we visit our friends who live in Burton quite regularly so this will be the first of many visits!

I come here a lot and all i can say is that the food is always absolutely fabulous. Service fab, real ale selection very good and i always really enjoy it. The food is always top class and i love the ceaser salad. Its the best ive ever eaten. The steaks are delicious too. Oh and the homemade chips. Its lovely to sit outside for a drink on a sunny sunday afternoon too. I cant fault it at all really. Wonderful!!!

“Just tea and coffee”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 18, 2013

Went for a walk round Barton marina and found the waterfront pub. To be honest all we wanted was tea and coffee. We had great service with the staff offering to bring our tray to our table outside. Great drinks and fantastic service. Will be back for food soon.
