On Saturday 29th September we made our 2nd visit to the Bulls Head, and I'm sorry to say it was our last. We first went in around 4.30 for an afternoon drink with friends after our long drive from Kent. We were faced with a very miserable older lady behind the bar that made it perfectly clear that her priority was to serve the locals. We eventually got our drinks and because of our previous experience we booked a table in the restaurant for that evening. After finishing our first drink we stood at the bar waiting to be served for another drink only to be made to wait yet again due to the fact that a meeting that was being held in the restaurant had finished and the 20+ strong group wanted to settle their food bills, one by one!!! Even though we were already waiting to be served, Mrs 'HAPPY' decided that her locals came first. Needless to say after 20 mins we just walked out.
We did return in the evening for our restaurant booking and thankfully there was a much happier and more helpful person behind the bar that served us straight away with a smile. Unfortunately this was the only nice part of the evening. The main courses that we had ordered were terrible, the steak was over cooked, the 'grilled' tomato was cremated, the grilled chicken was extremely dry and there was far too much balsamic dressing on the salad. I was absolutely gutted, I had recommended this place to friends and my husband and I ended up with egg on my face. The 2 young ladies that were waiting on us couldn't have been more helpful and polite so I have no issues with them what so ever. We will definitely not be returning to this place ever again!!!!
