We have just got back from a 1 night stay in the Splash Landings Hotel. We had a great time and the kids thoroughly enjoyed it. The theme of the hotel is fantastic and looks over the waterpark which is lovely! The room was clean, comfortable and nice to have tea and coffee making facilities. The children each had an activity pack which they loved.

The hotel offers childrens entertainment in the evenings which kept them occupied as did the lego! The morning breakfast was great with plenty of choice, full English, cereals, croissants, juices and coffee. Tip get there early as it does get quite busy and saw people waiting for tables! The water park is lovely. We waited til after 4pm to use as its half price then, didnt feel we needed anymore than 2 hours there anyway. The kids loved it and this was one of their favourite things.

We had 2 days in the park which worked out well for us as on the Thursday (27th June) the park was incredibly busy and we struggled to get on many rides. The queue for the smiler was 3 hours! Managed to get on more rides the day after as not so busy and had a fab day. The only downside for me was the fact that fast pass prices are very expensive and after spending so much money to stay over it would end up not much more money to take the children to disneyland paris where fast passes are no extra charge. I think maybe alton towers need to look at this and maybe use this as an extra incentive for people to stay in the hotel? Free fast pass? Especially when you have small children and want to get on big rides.

Overall a great stay. Forgot to mention staff in hotel and park very helpful and are a real credit to Alton towers.

Looking dirty and tired, it needs a refurb, which is why I cant understand why they charge such high prices? The food for this price should be of a higher standard. Our room had no air con so you will need the fan or melt and although your staying at Splash Landinds you cannot use the pool unless you pay £15 a head.
The one hour head start at the theme park for hotel users at 9 is virtually useless. The general public get in at the same time and most of the rides do not open until 10, so what is the point???

Me & my partner stayed at splash landing hotel on the 23rd may 2013 untill 25th may.. We paid £120 for 2night stayed witch we thought was good as you got free breakfast every morning plus any soft drinks you wanted! It was my first visted to alton towers we stayed in room 1149 and it was very clean and always smelled fresh! We paid half price for the first day in the park and then we paid 4,40 each to return next day witch was a barging to be honest! Meals were lovely there well breakfast as me and my partner worked it out to be cheaper to get food delievery to the hotel witch they allow! All in all it was a good stay enjoyed out self and it was when the children was at school so got on every single ride 4x over for the 2whole days we were there! My family and l. Stayed at splash landings hotel for three nights. The hotel is constantly hot.even the bedrooms.hard to sleep. Most mornings we would arrive at the park before 9. Thinking the park would be ok to que. No chance coaches party's arrive. There are no privalages for hotel guests. There should be an entrance for hotel guests to go through. Food and drink expensive. Nothing much for young ones. And rides for kids is ten opening. Smile new ride has been 2hours waiting time. The que was from hex. Staff are great. Nothing is to much trouble. We found the steak still red. From the resturant. 19.99 ahead. Buffet style. The staff have Tuesday and Thursday rides days. They que same as you and l. My daughter and l managed to soak a few managers on the river ripids. As there are water guns near there. Mutiny bay is good for the pirates. There is a show which is good fun. We were asked quite alot about what we thought about the park. From staff. Don't think you get what you pay for here. But good fun for the experience. There are entainers walking round. From paying to go in it is spend spend. But had a good time. But would invest in a Merlin card. 20% to 15% off food and other things. Water world is great if you wish to get away from the park and chill. The other hotel is up market but nice. The food in there restaurant is lovely and well cooked. The package we had was 912.00 pounds for room and breakfast. For room for 6 people. Food cost was 450.00 as we were paying as you go. Good time was had. But over priced for what you get. The smile ride saved Alton towers. Has it wasn't that busy last year. Staff told us. Came back stressed and not relaxed. And tired. And you need a midget to sleep in the bunk beds. My son slept with his feet over the edge of the bed. Very cramped and in uncomfortable. Beds hard. There was no suggestion box. I think it would of been full. :-)

Room Tip: There isn't really a good room as kids are running around in the hallway. And above you in the t...

Two nights in a Pirate room. In terms of value for money, it was expensive at £250 a night. And your Merlin Pass only gets you into the man theme park, not the splash park. Still, the youngest (age 5) loved it and I think it will be his favorite part of the three weeks in UK. I would agree with some of the previous comments that the place is in need of a refurbishment. Breakfast apart (which was a generous buffet) we ate outside. Main gripe though was the drunken revelry in the corridors until 0130am. For a family themed resort, the antics of the younger teenage visitors left a lot to be desired. Staff were pleasant and helpful.

We wanted 2 nights at either Alton Towers hotels for my husband and I and our two adult sons. As it had to be within the month we took what we could get. We got a room at the Splash Landings Hotel. The room for 4 adults has a double bed and a set of bunks. We really weren't expecting much as it is a hotel more geared toward kids and also houses Alton Towers waterpark. We were there for the theme park. Check in time is 3pm but if you arrive early as we did you can leave your bags at reception and go enjoy the day. When we did go back to the hotel our bags were already in our room. The hotel itself is in pretty good condition, all public areas seemed clean and tidy. The staff were all very friendly and actually appeared to want to be there. Our room was clean if a little warm, we turned the thermostat off and used the fan that was there but the window only opened 3 inches so it was pretty warm the whole time. The bathroom was a fair size and clean apart from some mold on the tile grout around the bath. There was no extractor fan and the TP left a lot to be desired. There are tea and coffee making facilities. We could have done with a couple more power points for charging and using our gadgets. When the room was cleaned our toiletries weren't replenished, this may have just been an oversight but any problems just contact reception. None of the special services on the tv were working like pay per view movies or even self checkout. The hotel is bigger than it looks and the corridors just seem to go on forever. The shop and vending machines are quite expensive, £2 for a small bottle of fizzy and even water. We ate at Flambo's Feast Restaurant which is an all you can eat buffet style dining experience. The food itself was pretty good, there were many options and it was brought out in smaller quantities so wasn't left to bake under the heat lamps and was replaced regularly, soft drinks are included in the price and are unlimited. Any plates were cleared quickly. Again the restaurant area was clean and tidy. This is also where breakfast is served again buffet style cooked breakfast also cereal, croissant etc, unlimited juice and hot drinks. Staying here is a little pricey but you get some benefits around the resort, we had a second day in the park free (for each of us) also free parking, but that would depend on the package. We truly were pleasantly surprised and wouldn't be afraid to return.

We stayed for one night at the Splash Landings Hotel whilst enjoying a few days at Alton Towers Theme Park.

Our room was very nice, well finished and comfortable. The atmosphere around hotel was very family friendly and there was lots of buzz and energy around the place.

We had our meal in the buffet lounge on the lower level and we felt the food was excellent value for money. The staff were all very friendly a accommodating and have already booked to come back with my husbands little girls (7&8) as we think their eyes will pop out of their heads when they see the waterpark attached to the hotel.

After dinner there was plenty of entertainment laid on for the children as well.

We enjoyed our stay as a coupe and can't wait to come back as a family :o)
