The Splash Landings hotel is a great idea. And with prices in excess of £200 a night my expectation was for something quite luxurious. Oh dear, what a disappointment. There is nothing intrinsically wrong with the place, it is just massively overpriced. Really it is a travel lodge with small rooms, shabby decor, thin walls, average food and below average beds. The staff are all very nice, but very young and don't really know how to deal with customers. Yes it is convenient for the park and the water park, but other than that there is not much to be said for it. We had 2 nights there over the fireworks weekend and it was very busy and overcrowded. We had a great time and the hotel didn't really spoil it, but I wouldn't rush to stay there again. In the summer we had a suite in the Venetian hotel in Las Vegas - the bathroom alone was bigger than the whole room in Splash Landings and it was much cheaper as well!
I'm all for paying for quality, but not so keen on paying quality prices and getting budget product.More
