Description: The Ramblers Retreat is an award winning country tearoom nestled in the Dimmingsdale, part of the beautiful Churnet Valley in Staffordshire. Our menu is homemade using only the best ingredients, many of which are sourced from local suppliers in the Staffordshire Moorlands. And as well as a delicious meal you can also enjoy the beauty and tranquillity of Dimmingsdale, this spectacular valley by following one of the established woodland walks. We look forward to seeing you soon.

A great little restaurant near Alton in the Midlands. Great scenery. Excellent service and very large portions of food. Will be going back soon hopefully with no rain so can enjoy sitting outside in nice weather.

We decided to try Rambler's Retreat because they have a good selection of vegetarian dishes and a few vegan dishes. It was hard to tell which were vegan from the menu, but the waiter was helpful in steering us to the ones we wanted. By far the favorite was the Cottage Pie, but the others were good too. To top it off, when we got the bill we were pleasantly surprised at how little our meal cost.

We visited the Ramblers Retreat after a long walk in Dimmingsdale which was full of amazing spring scenery. Some other reviews on trip advisor about this place, I think are stupid- we had an absolutely amazing time. The staff were amazingly helpful and friendly, the views were one of a kind and the food was delectable- especially the Lemon Meringue Pie which was one of a kind, the restaurant is worth a visit just to see that. The Ramblers Retreat is a wonderful Restaurant with amazing food in one of the most amazing parts of the Staffordshire Moorlands. It is definitely worth a visit and we will be returning soon (can't wait to go back)!!

Very nice setting, but we never got our toasted teacake, they gave it to someone else even though they gave us a buzzer which would ring so we could collect it from the counter.

We visited the Ramblers Retreat with friends and family where we had an absolutely amazing time. The staff were extremely attentive and friendly. We sat in the conservatory looking out onto their beautiful gardens which are the best I've ever seen at a tea room/ Restaurant. For our food we had their wonderful steak, ale and mushroom pie which was delectable, my son had a burger which he thouroughly enjoyed and my daughter had spaghetti which she loved. We then got to desert, which was by far our favourite part of the meal. Me, and my wife both had the Luscious Lemon Meringue Pie, my children shared a slice of chocolate fudge gateaux which they really liked and my friends had the Bakewell tart which they loved.

We had a wonderful time at the Ramblers Retreat and we are looking forward to our next visit!
