What a wonderful place to go and relax. The staff are welcoming and friendly and nothing is too much bother. The sitting rooms are relaxing with views of the beautiful garden. The staff giving you treatments in the Spa are very friendly and make you feel relaxed. The food throughout the day is wonderful and served once again by friendly staff.

I had a really lovely time and can' wait for my next visit.

Room Tip: Just book.

I stayed at Holbrook for 2 nights for my bestfriends wedding. From the reception we received on arrival to the rooms, breakfast, and organisation of the wedding it was all fantastic. No one could do enough for us and all the guests always knew where they needed to be. No one was ever left waiting for a drink refill and everyone was so friendly, polite and seemed to know what they were doing. The rooms are huge and very comfortable. The pool is nice also. Would highly recommend for either a wedding or just a stay. I would be more then happy to stay there again.

My wife and I were on a 4 day break – 2 days at Holbrook and 2 days at The Lordleaze Chard.

We arrived before usual check-in time and the lady on reception kindly moved our baggage to a side room and took us to the Spa centre where we enjoyed some cold drinks (traditional local bottled beers available) and some freshly prepared sandwiches whilst we watched the first couple of sets of the Wimbledon men’s final. Whilst we didn’t indulge in any of the treatments available during our stay we did enjoy The Spa centre bar, the patio area and the gardens.

The hotel has a great position with extensive grounds providing lovely views from the front. Our room didn’t have the greatest outlook but perhaps this was as expected as we were on a local Amazon deal. Nevertheless, the room was of a very good size (as are all the bedrooms) with a nice sized bathroom. Plenty of hot water and a powerful shower.

A wedding reception was in progress on our first day (Sunday) but was totally unobtrusive to the rest of the guests.

The evening meal kicked off with some really nice appetisers as we reviewed the menu in the lounge area. The menu offered an excellent balanced choice of food – on the first night we had a crab starter and halibut for the main course and the second night smoked salmon followed by lamb. All cooked perfectly and with great presentation. A tiramisu arrived one evening in error as I had ordered a soufflé. I told the waiter not to worry as the tiramisu looked (and tasted) fabulous but the waiter insisted I should also have the soufflé! He recommended a desert wine which was superb. The young waiters were very professional and obliging.

A great choice of freshly prepared food was available for breakfast.

All in all a great experience and worthy of full marks. We’ll be going again – that’s for sure….

The staff at Holbrook were fantastic. We stayed for 3 days for a family wedding. From the start of our stay , we have to say we could not fault them at all, The food was superb, the rooms were a little dated but then again it was in keeping with the hotel itself ( 400 years old). The grounds were stunning .Exceptionally clean also.
For a wedding the venue is perfect, romantic and beautiful. Even the ghosts are friendly!!.

With a Spa, Gym and Swimming pool as well , you couldnt ask for any more,

Holbrook House Thankyou !!!. Cant wait to come back.

Holbrook is a true country manor house with lovely grounds and spacious rooms. We arrived late and were not able to have dinner in the main dining room but the staff kindly brought us a delicious and enormous cheddar and tomato sandwich after hours. Our room and bathroom were huge with lovely views of the front garden and grass tennis courts. True, the decor could use some updating but everything was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was unbelievably generous and delicious: fresh pastries and fruit, cereals, yogurt and juices on the buffet and a full cooked breakfast of eggs, grilled tomatoes, mushrooms and sausages with toast. They deserve all their rosettes for gourmet food! The staff was most friendly and hospitable. Just wish we could have lingered longer to enjoy the spa and grounds. Great location for visiting Stourhead Gardens, Stonehenge, and Salisbury Cathedral.

I rang on the Thursday in desperate need of day/night away on Saturday. From the moment I spoke to Linda, (who must have sense the desperation in my voice) I knew things would be ok. The massage recommended by Linda was an excellent choice and I had the best massage ever from Gemma and felt totally rejuvenated.
Without exception the staff were friendly and helpful
The vegetarian food in the restaurant was outstanding with a comprehensive wine menu. A really comfortable night sleep followed a lovely veggie breakfast set me up fr another morning at the spa. I will definitely return and recommend to my friends.

Room Tip: Can only comment on the room I had. Nine Springs. Lovely quiet suite with beautiful views across the...

The staff are fantastic and we were pleasantly surprised by the fantastic quality of the food. We were looking for a hotel with spa facilities rather then a spa with rooms and that's what we found. The decor is dated and tied but clean and homey, if it were redecorated we wouldn't have been able to afford it and probably have been uncomfortable. We enjoyed our stay allot and will recommend it to our friends. Thank you for a lovely stay.
