Ate there in between Christmas and New Year and enjoyed it very much. Cosy pub with warm and friendly bar and waiting staff. Food good and plenty of it, would definitely recommend for a reasonably priced evening meal.

Having rented a cottage in the village for a family get together we were looking for somewhere for a birthday meal. There's not much choice in Williton so this place won unanimously.
Obviously I had to test the venue first so my wife and I had lunch in there. The home made mushroom soup was delicious, and the bacon baguette had a very generous topping of melted cheese. The lunch time menu was quite extensive and something to suite everyone.

The pub itself has a "thatch cottage" look and is typical of the area. Inside there are 2 distinct dining areas with the bar in the middle. There's a choice of well kept real ales, and plenty of choice of other drinks to satisfy everyones tastes.

When our party of 7 arrived there was a bit of a staffing shortage so the barmaid had to double up in the role of waiting on the tables too. This though she did with a friendly smile on her face.

Most of the food was decent/good and was all piping hot. The gammon was for some reason served with a 1/4 of a pineapple still with the shoots on the top! This took up far too much room on the plate so they could do with serving just a slice instead. Two dishes of mixed feshly cooked mixed veg were placed in the middle of the table for us to help ourselves. This was a good job as I ate one all to myself having what turned out to be a very miserly portion of veg with my duck.

Overall this place provides fair VFM for a decent choice of pub food. The atmosphere is good and the barmaid worked her socks off ............so deserves a rise! It is though only open "old style" hours so don't expect a 3pm pint.

TIP - This place was very busy so you will need to reserve a table

I ate here with friends recently. The portions are quite large and well presented. I had brie wedges with cranberry sauce for a starter. I was disappointed that it wasn't served with some wholemeal bread and butter but it was still ok. For the main course, I had a chicken and bacon stack which was enjoyable. Coffee afterwards was nicely served in a cafetiere and a chocolate.
