We had an amazing stay here for my birthday in November last year. The owner was very helpful on booking with lots of recommendations on things to do and places to see. There was a cute welcome parcel for us too with wine and chocs which went down well.
The property is brilliantly located in a small town with a couple of pubs, a good indian restaurant and a couple of shops and cafes which was handy. There were some fab walks from the house too, also not too far from Glastonbury which we visited and a short drive away to the seaside so we spent a day in Minehead too.
The house itself is ideal - a big enough kitchen with plenty of cooking utensils. Only thing that would have been better would be some pint glasses and a few more tea towels! There are still lots of herbs and spices etc that previous house users had left behind which was really handy.
The dining room area is huge and brilliant for my big birthday dinner.
The living room area was plenty big enough for us all, though it is decorated in quite a traditional mis-matching cottage style which is fine for us but I know some refer to this as old-fashioned - it certainly isn't modern. We personally loved that about the place but felt the living room would have benefited from bigger and comfier sofas for the number of people the house sleeps rather than the smaller harder backed sofas that are there. The big woodburner was a big plus though - and a must for us when we go away in the winter time.
We loved the hot tub and made good use of it, though as the house is close to other houses, it automatically went off late-evening time which is perfectly understandable but if you're wanting somewhere to have a really private stay where you can do as you please (we've been to places in the middle of nowhere where respecting neighbours isn't an issue!), this is perhaps not the right place for you! We could have done with some chlorine tablets and indicator stick to check the pH levels to make sure it's fully safe but we asked about this and someone came round to top up our chlorine so it wasn't too bad, but staying for a week, this really needs to be considered as it can get pretty mucky if used by lots of people for this amount of time!
The upstairs had a great layout - took a while to work it out but that's just because it's sooo spacious! The rooms are huge and most have big en-suites all with new showers.
We loved this house and really wanted to stay. We are recommending it to friends and family too.
Eight of us had a thoroughly enjoyable stay in this super converted farmhouse. All of the house has been extensively modernised and beautifully decorated, the owners are clearly keen to provide a lovely place for groups/families to relax and have an enjoyable stay. The kitchen was well equipped for catering for large numbers and the dining and sitting rooms amply accommodated our group. It was tricky for us to choose our rooms, as they were all really attractive and comfortable, with en suite bathrooms. We didn't use the hot tub, but this was a facility other guests may want to take advantage of. The house is just a short walk to the local shops and pubs, what more could you want? A great find.
