My partner and I booked Swain House as a last minute weekend getaway, and were not disappointed. We received a warm welcome from Jason, who spent time with us recommending the best places to eat in Watchet.
The hotel is furnished in a contemporary style which is both creative and comfortable. Jason has an eye for detail, and our room was perfect. The tray of teas; fresh coffee and wonderful chocolate brownies that we found in our room on arrival were greatly appreciated at the end of a long days drive. The bathroom and products provided were luxurious.
The breakfast was delicious and vegetarians are well catered for. I personally recommend the home-made pancakes with fresh berries and yoghurt!
Watchet is a small town, and a charming unspoilt place to base a stay. However, Swain house is definitely the star. We would highly recommend this hotel.

My wife and I stayed at swain house for two nights in July 2013. I have stayed in many hotels and b&b's, but none have compared to swain house. Jason is extremely helpful, professional and his attention to detail is superb. The rooms are finished to the highest standards which is a reflection to Jason, who is on hand whenever he is needed. If you are staying in the area look no further, £125 per night including a quality breakfast is an absolute bargain.

I actually registered with TripAdvisor in order to recommend this place. The other reviewers say it all, but for us, the decor, comfort, peace, meals, value and service were not able to be beaten. Watchet doesn't have the 'name' of some of its neighbouring towns, but I suspect this will soon change and it provides a great base for exploring too.

We stayed at Swain House last weekend and were very impressed. It really is a lovely place to stay. We stayed for 2 nights and whilst there visited Minehead, Dunster and Porlock. Jason recommended a great walk from Allerford to Hurlestone Point. We would definitely recommend Swain House as a great place to stay. The breakfasts are delicious, especially the pancakes!

The swain house is a great place to stay. Stylish , Chic an 5 star attention to detail. The icing on the cake is Jason's does not fully appreciate the oasis he has created in Watchet. We will definitely return in the near future.
