We stayed at Ston Easton over Christmas 2013. The room was very nice with a lovley view of the grounds. The staff were very friendly and attentive. My husband had a cold whilst we were there and the staff brought him a hot toddy without being asked. It seemed like they couldn't do enough for us. We were even given surprise Christmas gifts from the hotel which made our stay extra special. The food was delicious and served promptly. We're hoping to go back in the summer to celebrate a family Birthday. I really can't recomend this hotel highly enough!!

We stayed at this beautiful hotel in early January 2014. Our stay was relaxing and the staff were welcoming and very friendly. The room we stayed in was lovely and big (Cascade) and the views of the garden were amazing. Breakfast, dinner and the afternoon champagne tea was outstanding. We are hoping to return in the summer to see the gardens in full bloom. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay.

The moment you walk through the door we had such a warm welcome
the reception gave a tour of the main lower building before escorting us
to the room. the room was alittle dated may be in need of tlc but it had
charm and was clean and well equipped. being January and on the cold
side the hotel in all areas was warm, the waiting staff I must mention
all in uniform and very smart with service to match. we only had breakfast
during our stay the selection was second to none loved the presentation
of the full English, well done Ston Easton what you do you do well

Just back from a midweek break at Ston Easton - despite the (very) inclement weather it could not have been better, lovely open fires in all common areas meant the weather outside was quickly forgotten. Given a room upgrade, a four poster and oodles of space with great views (mostly of rain but still lovely). Wonderful service throughout and the 'Taster' menu was truly excellent, some of the best food we have eaten recently in the Uk accompanied by a very good wine list.
The icing on the cake was Oscar the dog - a great fireside companion!
We will definitely return soon to re-sample the experience (and try the main menu)

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the stream and cottage have good views and are very quiet.

My hubby and I stayed here a weekend in December on a dinner b&b basis. We had a lovely relaxing break and visited bath and wells. Whilst at the hotel we had a walk around the beautiful grounds. As it was Christmas the hotel was decorated beautifully with garlands up the staircase bannisters and a huge xmas tree in the lounge.
We had the taster menu which if I remember was 6 courses, the food was just delicious including the full English in the morning.
Great location, helpful staff, beautiful hotel.
We stayed in the Chinese room which was on the top floor so nice views but please be aware that there Are a lot of stairs to climb if you are on the top floor.

We stayed here for three nights just after New year when we expected it to be quiet and we got a good deal. The best thing about the hotel was the food which was bordering on superb. We were a little disconcerted on the first evening to find not only a rather limited menu but we were told it would be the same throughout our stay. However we were told we could talk to the chef after dinner and order other dishes on subsequent nights. This we did and we had beautifully cooked breast of duck on the second night and I had the most tasty and tender sirloin steak on the last night that I can remember. As you would expect the breakfast was freshly cooked but it was even better than usual. I had a full English breakfast and the fried eggs had no signs of grease and were piping hot. Even for something so simple it was excellent cooking. All the staff were kind and helpful, especially the dining room staff and even more especially the breakfast waitress.
Unfortunately the rest of the hotel did not match up to the cooking. The downstairs lounges and drawing rooms were large, traditional and comfortable. All the bedrooms were upstairs and the first floor was a climb of 29 steps. There was no lift. I have no idea if the lack of lift was unavoidable because it is a listed building but it does not alter the fact that there is no lift. Our bedroom (The Green Room) was apparently an upgrade. It was a modest size room for such a hotel with a vestibule leading out of the room. This contained a second writing desk and the door to the bathroom. It was difficult to see the point of it and it certainly does not turn the bedroom into a suite. The bedroom itself was comfortably furnished but that is all that can be said in its favour. It was cold apparently because it faced north and could not be double glazed. This was improved by our receptionist bringing an electric fire. The room was so dim even with all the lights on that it would have been difficult to read. Our kind receptionist brought a very powerful standard light which solved the problem but it was odd that it was not a regular part of the equipment.. A nice tea tray was brought to our room on arrival but it remained there, dirty until I asked for its removal on the third day. Tea making facilities in the room are not standard. There is supposed to be free WiFi throughout the hotel but it was impossible to receive it in the bedroom and in any room downstairs except near the front door.
Although the bathroom was large it was ill thought out. The shower was in the bath and was not a power shower. The basin taps were separate. There was no bidet. Worse still the lavatory usually took a few flushes to deliver the goods and in spite of my asking about this nothing effective was done.
Sadly, because everyone was so nice, I suggest this place needs a lot of attention before I would recommend it.

Back in November I went on a Festive Floral Workshop held in the hotel which included a two course lunch. A group of ladies who love to lunch were taught by the in-house florist and another lady florist how to make wreaths, table decorations and garlands with natural trimmings. We took a break for the excellent lunch served in the dining room; beautifully cooked salmon with a choice of white or red wine, and then were given all the tools and decorations to make our own arrangement. We had such a lovely day, it was fun, we made new friends, and took home our arrangements to start Christmas early. I thought the day was incredible value at £40.00 per head as it included lunch, coffee to start and tea to finish. I shall certainly be keeping an eye on their list of events to see what else I can go to!
