Food bland, boring, overpriced, manageress is rude to members of staff in front of customers. Staff look miserable (I would be too if my manager spoke to me like that!) Shocking. Don't bother.

We were on a visit to West Country Motorhomes nearby... and were recommended this retaurant. The staff were welcoming, the beer well looked after, and we had a BLT which came with salad, rice, pasta, and crisps. Others had appetising meals, but we only had a short time to spend.

Having been disappointed with the food last year on mothering sunday took a while to get the mind set to come back here for food as before this the food was very good but a change of owners soon dragged it down but as there are now new owners again the food quality has gone back up. We went with friends who also enjoyed the meal as there was just about the right amount to eat so no waste and the pricing is reasonable as well, the atmosphere is that of a friendly welcoming pub you dont get hassled but get just the right amount of attention to make the evening go smoothly all in all will be going back to this pub again.

Didn't eat here so can't comment on the food, however the beer was great, kept at right temperature. The place looked clean and landlord very welcoming.
Will try and get over for an overnight stay as they belong to the CC.

Oh, and it is in CHARLTON ADAM....NOT Somerton OR Charlton Mackrell!

Having thought of this place as one of the worst pubs on the planet whe I ate there ten years ago, I was astonished to have a meal of exceptional qulity in February and went there again in March to ensure that I was not dreaming. Beer good, as it should be as it is owned by a brewery, Fish excellent and the belly pork (Gloucester old spot) having been cooked for 7 hours was brilliant.

You will not find this place in somerton however . It is in CHARLTON MACKEREL which is 1 mile off the A37. Lots of space outside as well
