“Fabulous accommodation with friendly hosts”

We stayed in this wonderful b&b for our first wedding anniversary last September. The room was beautifully decorated and to my delight the wardrobe was well equipped with plenty of "proper coathangers"! The first thing our hosts did was put our bottle of champagne in their fridge for our anniversary. Nothing was too much trouble and the breakfasts were out of this world. We have recommended The Cottage to all our friends and family and will certainly be going back.

We recently did a week long coastal tour of Devon, Cornwall and Somerset - of all the b&bs we stayed in, this one was by far the best! The building itself was beautiful and full of history. The hosts couldn't do enough for us - they even ran around the village looking for ice when my Mum had a fall. Breakfast was fantastic and I loved that they had locally produced jams, honey, tea and coffee on offer. It's also really good value for money and has some reserved off road parking for guests around the back. The Cottage is right in the center of the village which boasts interesting shops, pubs and restaurants. I'll definitely be back!

We arrived in the delightful village of Porlock by chance. Fortunately we found this charming B & B had a room for the night. We were made to feel most welcome, nothing was too much trouble. Our lovely room had a distant view of the sea.We had an excellent nights sleep in the huge bed. Breakfast was a meritable feast, everything was locally produced and delicious. We were so well looked after and will most definitely return. Next time we will take up the offer of Dinner as well.

I stayed at The Cottage for one night in June 2009, during a walking holiday with my sister. We arrived very tired and grubby after walking from Minehead, and we were made very welcome and given fresh milk to make tea straight away. The room was lovely, with a fresh modern decor, and the beds comfortable. The owners were able to recommend suitable places to eat in Porlock.
Porlock village is small but pretty, with many interesting shops and a variety of pubs and restaurants.
There was an extensive choice on the breakfast menu, and we particularly enjoyed the fresh fruit salad, which was delicious.
My only slight gripe is that our shower was more of a trickle, buth other than that we had a very enjoyable stay.

The two ladies who visited in June 2009 from France stayed in our only twin bedded room with an en suite 'bathroom'. This bath has a 'telephone' type shower on the taps, primarily for hairwashing, and is not a 'stand under' 'shower in the accepted sense and does not have good pressure. On the other hand our en suite 'shower rooms', have excellent power showers.

My wife and I stayed at The Cottage in Porlock in April and had an amazing stay.

The location is fantastic, in the middle of the village with a number of quiet pubs and restaurants close by. The bedrooms exceed all expectations and are finished to a very high standard with flat screen TV's, power showers and beautiful furnishings.

Breakfast was a great start to the day with the choice from an extensive continental buffet of fresh fruits, juices, pastry’s, cereals, yoghurts etc and the a full English cooked fresh from the kitchen.

The service is impeccable; Angela and John the owners really make you feel at home where no request is to large and no detail to small.

I would highly recommend The Cottage in Porlock, you wont be disappointed.
