A bad night on a hot evening, no air-conditioning and windows left open a crack did nothing to help (except to let in external noise). This hotel is fairly grubby looking for one that is advertised as a refurbished one.

We are really sorry to learn of your disappointment with the temperatures in your room docpulse. Unfortunately we do not provide air conditioning in this particular hotel however in an attempt to make our customers have a comfortable stay we do offer fans at reception, on a first come first serve basis. We do expect the whole of our hotel to be clean and fresh so it is regrettable to learn you found this was not the case. We will be sure to pass on your comments to the hotel management team.

Have not stayed at a travelodge for sometime but this turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. Check in was easy and the rooms had everything you need. There was a Little Chef/Burger King next door so food was available. The hotel was easy to find and was well positioned for onward travel.

Room Tip: Room at the back would be quieter

This Travelodge has had a great makeover, with clean and fresh décor and furnishings. The bathroom was vastly improved, with clean bright tiling and good safety handrails around the bath. We were in room 3, which has two comfortable chairs. The room was well lit with plenty of space for luggage. Best of all is the really comfortable bed!
Jill on reception was helpful and informative.

If ever the owners of the Travel Lodge chain need an example of the difference refurbishment makes, then they need look no further than the one at Ilminster. One can only hope that they roll out their make over programme across the country because a poor Travel Lodge is not worth staying at. Ilminster was really good and superb value for money and the 'new' beds ensured a really sound night's sleep. Nothing more needs to be said other than Jill at Reception was very polite and helpful. From now I shall choose a Travelodge for my stays away PROVIDED THE HOTEL HAS BEEN THE SUBJECT OF A REFURB.

Stayed here for 2 nights and had a comfortable stay in this well-established Travelodge. The premises are 20 years old but have recently had a "make-over" and we couldn't fault our room (on the first floor) - it was clean and with a very comfortable bed. We noted that there wasn't a lift so had to carry our overnight cases up several short flights of stairs. Not a problem for us but anyone with a disability might like to request a room on the ground floor. Also, the air-conditioning unit of the Little Chef (immediately adjacent the Travelodge) was outside our window and "hummed" loudly until about 10 pm when it was turned off. Apart from these comments, we had a comfortable stay and would recommend The Monks Yard and the Stonemasons Arms as places to eat in the close vicinity.

Room Tip: Ask for an "odd" numbered room away from the A/C unit of a neighbouring restaurant. Ask f...

The best Travelodge i've stayed in to date. Large, clean, bright 'new Look' rooms. Friendly staff, as always. Clean & fresh Communal areas. Good facilities on site all within a few yards of the hotel. I didn't get to use them as I was working odd hours. But they all looked good.

Having stayed at this Travelodge Sept 2013, we arrived to find an old dirty travelodge. The garage, little chef and burger king were closed despite not saying this on website. Well went back last weekend and what a transformation in 7 months. The rooms are all redecorated in new style, fantastic comfy beds, trundle beds for kids, so much better than the old sofa!!, Also new garage built and little chef now funky diner style.......WOW!! so much better don't be put off by older comments
