Had room 10 - in a complex away from the main building so had to go outside for a drink and breakfast. Room pleasant and clean with lovely views and although the shower was adequate the best part was the big lovely fluffy towels provided. Curtains not black out curtains and thus the room was light during the night. Breakfast was nothing special ( one piece of bacon and egg hard) and served in a very large unattractive dining room. All the staff were pleasant and helpful - did not visit the pool but it would have been helpful to be told it was closed on sat. am due to toddler classes.

Room Tip: Happy with room 10 - twin beds, and away from main building

we stayed one night at the full moon, and would definitely stay again.

all the staff were friendly and helpful and the room was clean and comfy. we enjoyed having the pool to ourselves in the morning, and the only thing that would make it better would be a sauna poolside.

veggie breakfast was just the ticket, and we left feeling rested and refreshed.

many thanks

Room Tip: we stayed in the lodge away from the main building, very peaceful and nearer the pool building

A little gem in a lovely part of the country, The Full Moon is a friendly and comfortable hotel. The bedrooms are a good size and the beds, soft and luxurious, offer a wonderfully relaxing night. There are some unexpected little touches for a small country B and B: toiletries in the bathroom, lovely big fluffy towels, generous coffee and tea-making facilities with some yummy biscuits. We spent one night there, a party of five in three rooms. We arrived at 4.00pm, not having eaten lunch and having a concert to go to at 7.30pm but they were able to give us an excellent lunch/dinner. It was an unexpectedly good meal; all of us were impressed with it, particularly given the selection on the menu. Usually the more choice, the more mediocre but no so here. Generous portions of delicious food - hats off to the chef. Unfortunately the experience was not repeated at breakfast the next day with it taking nearly half an hour to get the cooked breakfast and every boiled and poached egg being hard. Another minus are the shower/bath facilities; the water pressure in two of the three rooms we stayed in (1 and 3) was almost non-existent. They really should do something about that. Having said that I have still given the hotel five stars because I think these are things that the owners will take on board and make better as soon as they can. Their service was extremely friendly and willing and I feel they will strive for excellence and, in the end, for me, the pluses far outweighed the minuses. Give them a try. If you make sure you ask for your eggs soft-boiled I think you will be pleased!

Room Tip: The water pressure in rooms 1 and 3 was not that great. Ask how the shower works in room 3; the powe...

This was the first time we had stayed here arriving near the end of September and staying for two nights. We stayed in a family room in the main building with a double and single bed, for my wife and I together with our six year old daughter. OK, the room is traditional, with darker furniture, but it was spotlessly clean and the facilities as you would expect. This room has an ensuite bath, but it was large and toiletries good. There is an indoor pool, which is a great asset for a pub with accommodation and was good for our daughter.
The pub itself has two bars and an outside area for children to play with a slide. We ate in the bar both nights and the food was really very good. Good choice of ales and ciders with a decent limited wine list. It had a nice feel to be in. There is a separate restaurant section you can dine in.
Breakfast is taken in a separate function room and was excellent.
Finally, I loved the attitude of the staff to all our requirements and the place had a good friendly feeling. Would we go back? Certainly.
We stayed here as we were visiting Longleat and I can recommend it as a place to stay if you are visiting the Safari Park.

Since our last stay the accommodation here has been very neglected. Stayed in 'Owens Court' which is a separate cottage near the main pub & booked family room + kitchen/lounge downstairs. On entry, the hall ceiling has huge water stain around hatch on ceiling. The bathroom has paint/plaster hanging down com the ceiling, window and blind had black mould on and door frame also had mould on. Kitchen cupboards had cobwebs in with the pots & pans, empty beer bottles left on side in kitchen and rubbish bin hadn't been emptied since last occupants were there. We asked for a key to the lock on the kitchen door as we were self catering with food etc and landlord was very abrasive - asking " we'll do you have to leave things in there...." and then added he'd charge us if we lost his only remaining key. I suggested maybe he could get another cut...Not very welcoming and overall the standard of accommodation has slipped badly to being unacceptably low, even for a country pub.

Room Tip: Don't stay in the family room at Owen's Court

I really question what some people expect for their money. This is a relatively unspoilt country pub with all the charm of genuine ageing that you only find in the real thing. We had room 11 in the separate accommodation building which was comfortable and clean, everything worked and being in the middle of the countryside, we had a very peaceful nights sleep. We had arrived in time for the Sunday Carvery at a bargain £10.95 for two courses if you are a resident, plenty of fresh veg, a good choice of well presented and cooked roast meats and a tasty vegetarian option for me. Still full at dinner so just had starters and sides, again tasty and honest food Brekkie was top hole with plenty of extras of everything available. All the staff were friendly and the welcome seemed sincere I really believe this place represents great value for money and would happily recommend it to my friends
