Oh dear! We've dined here before. We like the place, the somewhat quirky feel. It is what many others have said, it's like dining in someone's home (which presumably it is). There's nothing wrong with the decor, or the atmosphere; if you want bright and modern (and pizza), go somewhere else.
The food is undeniably good; and the prices aren't that out of line, given what you get. The wine list is magnificent!
But the service. No qualms about "the management"; nor (really) about the bar waiter(?) although flippancy is always a thing to be carefully judged, some can cope and others not. But the waitress who sniffed constantly whilst serving at the table and couldn't tell the difference between broccoli and spinach (!); and the table waiter who certainly overstepped the bounds of familarity and left all of us in fear of his serving skills (would the vegetables end up on the plate or in our laps?) detracted quite a lot from the overall impression. Maybe it was just a bad evening (30/11/2013) and nothing some intensive training can't cure. But it is certainly needed on the evidence of our visit! Will we go back? Yes, probably, but a repetition of this visit would spell curtains!
