Stayed here for two nights. I cannot praise the staff enough, helpful, friendly and good at their jobs, nothing was too much trouble - a great asset to this hotel. The room was clean and had everything you needed for your stay. Toiletries, tea/coffee, biscuits all provided. Towels changed every day.

The food on offer here really is extremely good - in fact if it wasnt so far away i would come here for dinner every week! The chef is clearly very talented and deserves lots of praise for his hard work. Breakfast was a great selection with all the cooked items cooked to perfection and delivered within minutes of ordering. Cannot fault it. Would definitely plan to return at some point and am extremely happy to recommend this place to others. For the prices they charge you simply could not do better ;-)

Stayed here after spending a day in bath. It's OK! that is all. Communal areas a pretty grotty and tired. Room we had was spacious and bathroom was standard. What improved my score for the cornerhouse was the breakfast - don't think I would have enjoyed 2 nights here!

Stayed in July 2013 - am happy to recommend this place to stay.

Stayed here as visiting Longleat the next day. It is around a 5 mile drive to Longleat so not bad at all.

The staff were welcoming and eager to help. There is a (free) car park out the back and never had an issue getting a space. There are plenty of nearby shops and restaurants or you can go for a drive and find a country pub. Alternatively, they offer dinner at the Cornerhouse although I didn't have it.

The room itself was very comfortable and clean. A good size. Nice bathroom with plenty of hot water. The only niggle is the outside noise - in hot weather if you have the window open then you get noise from the road traffic and drinkers in the pub downstairs. However, by the time I wanted to sleep they had all gone home and the traffic had stopped, so not an issue for me personally and did not affect my stay.

Breakfast very nice and set me up for the day.

Overall I was very pleased with my stay and would stay again. I would recommend it to others happily.

Travelling down from Newcastle for a wedding at Babington, we needed somewhere to stop over the night before. The Cornerhouse seemed the best bet based on price and location. I rang up for early check in, which was easily accommodated.

The staff are very welcoming and friendly. The room was plenty big enough with a double bed and 2 singles. Well decorated and well equipped. The setting is lovely and the building is beautiful. More like a hotel than a B&B. Bathrrom nice and tidy, with more than enough towels etc.

Breakfast was lovely, with the most amazing coffee I have ever had! As another reviewer pointed out, linen napkins and nice cutlery make all the difference.

On speaking to the staff at breakfast, it was pointed out that one of them worked at Babington for 11 years. She has clearly used this experience to an advantage, providing lots of little luxury touches which do not affect the price, but definitely add to the quality.

A lovely little hotel, which I would definitely recommend and would not hesitate to stay in again.

Room Tip: All rooms are beautiful, however, during summer, the rooms get very, very hot. Not really suitable f...

We were going to a wedding and needed a stop over somewhere. I came across the cornerhouse and booked based on the fact it had a good location for us and the price was good.

I emailled ahead as I knew we would need to check in early. They emailled quickly to say that would be fine. We were even able to go to our room ahead of time to change etc which was really nice.

The room was a good size and the bed was fairly comfortable. The shower was good but didnt stay in a good position on the stand so needed holding- didnt bother us but would bother some.

Had a good night sleep- weren't bothered by noise or people leaving the bar even with the windows open.

Breakfast was nice- the lady serving us was really friendly. We appreciated her! She was really lovely to a couple of little girls also having breakfast too which was sweet.
I do agree that toast might be a nice thing to add but otherwise the choices were good for breakfast.

The car park is fairly small- we returned from the wedding and there were no spaces so had to look elsewhere to park.

All in all, would stay again for a night if we were passing through

Stayed here as a base for longleat. Very friendly staff who couldn't do enough for us. We have the family room (room 3) with four beds, very big and clean. Good shower and tv. We ate in the bar at night which was fairly busy, food was excellent as was the ale ;-) price very reasonable and breakfast again was tasty. If staying for longleat or just passing through you won't go far wrong staying here. Highly recommended. Only thing to improve is to serve toast with breakfast lol ;-)

Overnighted for visit to friends. Friendly staff, our room was very small but okay for one night and clean. Main staircase carpet gives a very poor first impression and should be replaced asap. Quite a popular and lively bar. Easy access to town and heritage walks and good parking on site. Would be best to get one of the bigger rooms for more than one night.
