“A Lovely Experience”
Reviewed July 6, 2012

We only stayed one night - we were attending a local wedding - but what a great and relaxing stay!. The owners' attention to detail was 100%. We had a 'welcome' decanter of sherry in the room and the tea and coffee making facilities were just perfect - a cafetiere, decent ground coffee bags and the offer of fresh milk if UHT did not appeal. We were offered, and accepted, a lift to the wedding venue. The room/ensuite were spotless and well appointed. Breakfast, often the benchmark of a good hotel, was perfect. Natually a good english breakfast plus smaller options and fresh croisants etc on all tables. If only all hotels were like this!

That is what this hotel has been for me!
I have been staying here since January during the week whilst working in the area.
(Jan 2012 to July 2012)
In this area there is nowhere else I would want to stay as there is nowhere better.
Over that period I have stayed in most of the rooms and found them all excellent.
Now the food!
I love food and have been educated by a chef wife, so I do know a little about food.
The food here is delicious, excellent, well presented, plentiful and gives me great pleasure!

Room Tip: Room one is the best, but I prefer rooms 6 or 7

Well we had the 4 poster bridal suite for the first nights stay, what a lovely room and the bathroom was a delight. Clean and comfortable, the sherry was lovely and the fresh milk is always a must with me.
The second night we had room 6 which was a lot smaller but again very comfortable.

We ate in the restaurant the first night, whilst the food was good I didn't think it had that super quality, no complaints but just not memorable. I would happily stay again.

stayed 2 nights at this wonderful hotel, charming former coaching inn with tons of history. carol and nigel made us feel most welcome and the meals were truly fantastic. if you get time try one of the cream teas absolutley gorgeous. all the rooms are spotlessly clean and well furnished and lovely gardens outside to sit and take in the fantastic veiws.as for the history there is more than ample to keep any ghost hunter or crime writer busy throughout their stay. a great weekend looking forward to next time

Stayed one night in June on business. Excellent evening meal. Room spacious and spotless. Slept really well, no noises. Shower powerful. Shoe cleaning equipment with brushes and polish. Breakfast again excellent with proper food. Nice garden for early morning cigarette and coffee. Only minor minus point, beer from cans, but all other plus points more than compensate. Staff very friendly.

though it sounded perfect and it was ,The food was out of this world, the accomdation was superb
and one of the most important thing for us that our Golden Retriver was made very welcome
We can't wait to stay with Carol, Nigel and there great staff again at their wonderful hotel

Room Tip: We stayed in room nine which was perfect for us because it was on the ground floor with its own door...
