We arrived as a group of 4 for an evening meal at 1900hrs. There is a good sized car park close to the main entrance.
Upon entering you are immediately faced with a very pleasant bar area with soft seating, a nice space to enjoy a pre-meal drink.
To get to the actual restaurant you have to go down stairs, there is a lift for disabled access which is good.
The restaurant is a very relaxing area with a good atmosphere. When we went there was only one other couple apart from our group of 4 in all night. It was quite nice having the place nearly to ourselves.
The staff were very attentive, drinks were brought quickly. Having ordered our food I thought we waited a little too long for it to arrive. I had the 12 oz Porterhouse steak which I asked for medium to well done.
When it arrived I thought it was a little too well done for my liking, having said that it was still absolutely lovely and very enjoyable. The home made chips are amazing and the portions generous we thought.
The other three in my group said their food was also extremely good, we were certainly very impressed with the mains. The menu was good with quite a choice for both starters and mains.
We all thought that the desert menu was a little poor, mainly a lack of choice. Everything was chocolate based, if you didn't like or want chocolate then you would be struggling. There were only 4 items to choose from on the desert menu so we chose not to have one.
All in all I would definitely come here again based on this experience, no real complaints and a good evening was had by all.
