We stayed here a couple of nights. It's an old coaching Inn that pre-dates the church opposite - so it got some history! The Room was bang up to date tho with modern shower, TV, bed and fittings, plus wifi.
Breakfast was quick and they and they do a veggi option too.
Price includes breakfast and there is parking in the courtyard.
Our room was at the top and stairs were a bit steep. Floors were a bit wonky due to its age. Its very central but we did not find it noisy on Fri/sat nights. Staff helpful and friendly too.

Stayed one night on a works function. Given a double room in the back annex, this was a large room but a very small bathroom situated under the stairwell. Felt a bit like Harry Potter!!
Still it was clean and ample in the end. Good tea, coffee facilities and an added touch of ample supply of buscuits.
The TV is fixed in one position on the wall so a little annoying as you cant angle it but thats a very small moan.
Over all this doesnt give a great feeling when you first arrive but it really is pretty good all round. I did point out that brealfast was a bit late for me and i would 99% sure that i would be up and gone before it but there was no reduction in cost so that was disappointing.

I would use this venue again and hopefully stay for the breakfast.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights. The room was comfortable, warm and shower pressure fantastic.

Breakfast was brilliant, beautifully served with an excellent choice, including your usual full English, veggie option or something a little different if you fancied eggs Benedict or smoked salmon & scrambled eggs.

The young lady serving us was really pleasant, suitably attentive.

The location brilliant for an easy stroll into town and also had free on site parking (bonus after a 6.5 hour drive).

I wouldn't hesitate recommending this place to stay to anyone.

A lovely B&B in the centre of bridgwater which was perfect for an overnighter whilst sorting out some car parts. In the centre of town, with parking available (arrive early to avoid disappointment) so a good spot to wander from in the evening.

The front of house lady was very pleasant and attentive both upon arrival re: parking, local recommendations for lunch/afternoon relaxing (Great Escape - only tried for lunch), evening food options, bar hand and also on duty at breakfast - thank you for representing the Vicarage brand & what it aspires to 100%.

Room was spacious. The garden outside was a lovely spot to watch the sunset with a beer. only real disappointment was the breakfast. Even early-on in the morning the dining room was full so we were sat in the overspill room and unfortunately things didn't get much better. Despite notifying the B&B at point of booking that my partner and I were both vegetarians they had run-out of vegetarian breakfast options and the only hot food available was beans on toast- at approx £7 each this did not feel great value for money. A bit of a shame as otherwise the rating would have been higher. P.s we discovered a Wetherspoons a few doors down - May have been a better bet for breakfast.....both cost and selection...?

This was a very comfortable place in a good location. Breakfast was excellent. We could walk from here to several local restaurants, or stay in and dine. It was a very useful stopover point not far off the M5.

My wife and I were visiting family and friends, and stayed at the Vicarage for one week. The staff were wonderful and friendly - our request were all met with smiles. Though historic, the twin room was adequate, with en-suite, flat screen TV, free WiFi, and coffee and tea restocked daily. The hotel is ideally located near city centre. Despite that - it was a very quiet area - so sleeping was good. For such an old building, it was surprisingly sweet smelling - not musty.
A few suggestions: the bedding could use refreshing, especially the pillows. The room could have used an a good vacuum - we even saw an old red napkin under the corner of a writing bureau that enjoyed the week's stay with us :) Overall, quite good though - we would stay again.

On the plus side we received a very warm welcome on arrival and breakfast each morning was good, well prepared and served with a smile!
Our en-suite room in the annexe was adequate for a night or two but showing signs of wear and needing a little bit of TLC. However, it was clean and did have everything needed to make the stay comfortable.
Other commitments made it impossible for us to try the restaurant for dinner but as mentioned breakfast was good and the dining area, together with what we saw of the rest of the hotel, was full of character. Housed in a centuries old building, the Old Vicarage, is best suited for those like us who appreciate the charm in narrow staircases, sloping floors, beams etc.
With it's very central position the hotel couldn't be better placed and with a little bit of updating, has the potential to be so much more.
