Another lovely meal at the Old Vicarage! We visit each festive season with old friends and it is always good. Over the years we have seen many changes of staff but have always received good service - this was no exception with an excellent three course meal and lovely surroundings to eat in. The orangery was decorated in a minimalist way but very elegant - the food was fabulous, my companions choosing turkey and me having a beautiful piece of cod on a bed of spinach with a risotto to die for! Desserts followed and then as usual, coffee in the lounge. Too full to eat the mince pies we took them home - the only downside is that someone mistakenly sprinkled them with salt instead of sugar! Shame as the pastry was lovely!! This in no way detracted from a lovely meal at a beautiful restaurant in a lovely setting. Looking forward to our next visit.

We went here as a party of 11 including our 2 year old. The staff and service were excellent and they couldn't have been more attentive and accommodating. The meal itself was excellent, we had a three course Sunday lunch followed by coffee. There were about four choices for each course and the main course came with 4 different choices of vegetables and two choices of potato. It was excellently cooked and tasted wonderful! Overall it was a lovely birthday lunch and a great bit of special occasion pampering....we will return!!

Fantastic setting. You really feel like you are going out for a special occassion. Amazing, high quality fine dining. The food is absolutely exquisite. We went for our wedding anniversary as it was a special occassion, but actually it's reasonably priced, so I would go just for an evening out too.

Went for a family celebration, the surrounding are lovely, may be a bit more heat in the lounge area but it is an old building and you do get that at times. The menu was simple, three courses and about four options for each course. Price was about what you would expect for the surroundings. There were only 2 other parties there on that night so not busy. Food came and was nicely presented, and flavours were good, not so sure about the toffee and salt ice cream though. What was disappointing was the service given so few people dining. We had to ask repeatedly to get some drinks and the wine was not served regularly enough which meant they missed on extra sales.
