For flying enthusiasts or simply an insight in to the history of military aviation, Cosford museum provides an ideal day out for the majority of the family. Although the exhibits are spread out in four large halls which do take some walking (not for the elderly or infirm although wheel chairs are available and appropriate access given) the themed layout is an excellent way to display the numerous aircraft and to be able to get up close and personal. Parking is on site, close to the display halls, is ample and at minimal cost; entry to the museum is free. Food is available whether just a light snack or something more substantial, and there are plety of areas for those who prefer to take their own picnic.
The only complaint if one is required would be that at times there are too many exhibits displayed together and keen photographers will struggle to capture decent snaps unless carrying a plethora of different lenses (including fish-eye!).
Well worth the visit.
