For flying enthusiasts or simply an insight in to the history of military aviation, Cosford museum provides an ideal day out for the majority of the family. Although the exhibits are spread out in four large halls which do take some walking (not for the elderly or infirm although wheel chairs are available and appropriate access given) the themed layout is an excellent way to display the numerous aircraft and to be able to get up close and personal. Parking is on site, close to the display halls, is ample and at minimal cost; entry to the museum is free. Food is available whether just a light snack or something more substantial, and there are plety of areas for those who prefer to take their own picnic.

The only complaint if one is required would be that at times there are too many exhibits displayed together and keen photographers will struggle to capture decent snaps unless carrying a plethora of different lenses (including fish-eye!).

Well worth the visit.

Free admission though you pay for car park and buy a guide for £2.50.
Excellent value with so much to see and so informative. We couldn't believe it was free!
We thoroughly enjoyed the exhibitions, a great day out for all ages.

Really enjoyed the visit here, there's lots to see and take in plus its free. The only negative I would have is that a lot of the displays don't carry much detail, so you are left with questions.

A visit to Cosford had to be one of the best free shows going. Well you do have to pay for the car park but it is only about £3 from memory. Great place for families as there is a lot for the children to enjoy with some hands on exhibits and the range of aircraft from the ill fated TSR2 to the newly acquired Nimrod. classic aircraft of the pioneering days of air travel and from WW2. There is a decent cafe with reasonable food at reasonable prices. There is also a picnic area if you want to bring your own food and drink The staff are friendly and helpful. If you are a keen photographer and ask they will let you cross the rope barriers for that special picture. But please do ask first. I have been a couple of times in the last 12 months or so and am planning a group visit for next year. If you are wondering where to take the family when the schools break up. This is a good day out

We have just spent most of the day at RAF Cosford Museum. What a superb day out for free (except for £3.50 to park the car all day)! Lots of planes, missiles, engines, vehicles etc etc to see. Interactive stuff for the kids including simulator ride( small charge). Plenty of outdoor space for picnics. Would highly recommend a visit, can't beleive we haven't been before as its only about 20 miles from home! Very interesting for kids young & old!
