Quite a gathering, most of us were disappointed with our meals. It wasn't explained to us
we would need to order potato's and veg separately.

We have tried hard to figure out who this comment relates too. The menus clearly state that vegetables and potatoes are extras and almost 95% of our dishes have a potato or starch element. We have not had any tables that fit the description of the complaint and if we had been aware of it we would have done our level best to resolve it at the time.
Happy to speak to the guest and resolve.

The restaurant is in a former school,a lot of the original features have been retained. You can just imagine board rubbers being thrown across the room and desks being slammed. We were shown to a seating area in front of a log burner, with nibbles on plates on the table in front of you. The menu was extensive ,with a great range of specials,it is classic, rustic fayre with a twist. My husband had potted shrimp & I had chicken liver terrine to start, both were lovely. He had a fillets of salmon in a cream sauce with potatoes and I had the lamb riot - one of the best dishes I've eaten in a while. There was a good size chop, lamb and mint sausage & a shepherds pie in onion gravy,I can't enthuse enough about it. Although the were a bit disappointed at the veg selection, being of a similar sort. Pudding was equally yummy, assorted dishes such as lemon possett. We had a banoffee eton mess & a chocolate jamesons mousse in a brandy snap basket. There's a great selection of wines to suit most budgets, many around the £20 mark. We'll definitely go back soon .

We enjoyed a very good early bird meal. It was good value for money . The staff are all very friendly and welcoming, nothing seemed to be to much trouble. Will be back.

Yet again.....
Jeff and his amazing team of staff have done it again with great food, amazing attentive service and the personal touch only a great restauranteur can achieve..
This is not the first time we have visited this great venue..
We were hear for Christmas Day, Valentines Day and now Mother's Day along with many visits in between over the years.. Table 6 been our favourite location which more often than not is our table!!
What a great touch again today!! and not for the first time your name on the table printed on a themed card, along with a spring potted plant to take home to remember a great day from a great restaurant.. This was a nice touch from a restaurant that goes that extra mile to make your visit one to remember.
Thank you again Jeff, and for been located in Oswestry with the best place to eat in the county.
Best regards and see you again soon..
JT

We went to the dining rooms for a treat using the groupon voucher, The resturant was quiet as it was a tuesday but very welcoming, the staff were very attentive but not too much to make you feel pressured. We had starters of mushroom on toast which was lovely. Our mains were just as good, The house red and white wines were exceptional and very reasonably priced. We hadn't been to here for a few years and thoroughly enjoyed our evening and wont be waiting that long again before a return visit.
