We went on a Monday night, one other table occupied. Its still little chef shaped but newly decorated, clean and comfortable. Welcome was pleasant but not over friendly.
Despite there being only two tables we found the service slow, were not given or offered any popadoms while we waited, which is a first ever. Order taken on an iPad but again not very friendly.
The menu was varied and interesting but we went for our usuals so we could compare. Starter was very tasty but possibly over presented with a drizzle of mango and yogurt when I prefer to put it on myself and have more of it.
Main course followed after a sensible wait. The china they use is lovely, food is very well presented. Isn't a balti supossed to be in a balti dish though?
My main course was very strongly coloured and incredibly sweet. I have a sweet tooth but it was very very sweet, my coke cola didn't taste sweet while eating it. Rice, Nan and side dish all lovely.
Again when we'd finished service was slow to clear up and very slow to give us a bill.
The other table was offered complimentary drinks, not us, tragic.
Overall pretty good but with some areas they could improve on, smile and be friendly, talk about the menu rather than hide behind the iPad. Tweak the food and speed up the service.
Probably return at some point if it doesn't surcome to the curse of that building!!
