“A real gem”
Reviewed January 12, 2014

Always made to feel very welcome, this is a super cosy, quirky and beautiful tea room. Very tasty cakes made with free range eggs and a wide variety of beverages. Folk night on a Friday is brilliant fun to join in with and knit and natter on a Wednesday. A lovely part of the community.

“Deserved an excellent review - so gave one!”
Reviewed January 9, 2014

Sought this little place out via trip advisor for somewhere to take a break whilst in Oswestry in October. We only had drinks, as we were heading somewhere a bit later in the day for lunch.
The host was most welcoming on our entry, and were it not for the fact we were having lunch later, I would have had the soup of the day, as it's wonderful aroma filled the tearoom that day. Fantastic coffee, tea (in a proper teapot!) service, host and surroundings, and feels a wonderful little place to easily while away an hour or so over coffee. - A must re-visit for us when back in Oswestry.

“Gem of a place”
Reviewed November 22, 2013 via mobile

I love this place. It's genuinely quirky without trying too hard. Its comfortable and suitably twee for a tea room.

The food is simple, hearty, tasty, big portions and pretty cheap. What more can you want?

With the ethos of supporting local business id suggest this over the local Starbucks and Costa any day of the week.

“A proper (big) pot of tea”
Reviewed November 17, 2013

Found completely by accident but so glad we did. Had been on a long walk in the lovely Shropshire countryside and needed a cup of tea-badly- before getting the bus home. We came upon the Curious Tearoom by sheer luck and were just happy to somewhere open. Inside, though, it is a nostalgic marvel, there's even an old table football set up you can play on as well as books and toys people of a certain age (me) will recognise from our youth.
Best of all though is that the tea comes in a proper BIG pot and the homemade cake is made with homemade butter, and the guy working there (Nick?) was friendly and chatty.
A definite gem!
