Stopped at the Wynnstay for lunch with my mother as we had lived in Oswestry in the 1960s. Service was excellent and the food outstanding. Very good value for money from kind, professional staff
Thank you.

Stayed overnight as part of a large group booking. Used the spa facilities on the Saturday afternoon and they were good - there's a pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna, plus a gym. After a local event our group returned to the hotel on the Saturday night and the plentiful staff ensured that we were kept adequately watered during a long evening (and early morning!). They were brilliant, and very patient, ably led by PJ the Bar Manager.
We had an excellent breakfast on the Sunday morning.

The hotel is a typical town centre hotel with a series of additions built onto the original building. It is a bit of a warren as a consequence with maze like corridors and random stairs. I don't think there is a lift, so if you can't do stairs, ask for an accessible room. The room was comfortable enough, and the bathroom and bed were new and well appointed. Cleanliness left a bit to be desired, particularly the hoovering of the floor of our room and the state of the housekeeping areas - during room servicing there are various doors and windows left open which show the state of play 'behind the scenes'.

It wasn't bad, but it's difficult to see how they can compete with the likes of Premier Inn at their pricing of around £100 for a double room.

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. We are pleased to hear the facilities were to your liking and you enjoyed your evening/early morning. We work very hard to provide the best service and food and pleased to see this reflected herein your comments.

We are sorry to hear that you were unhappy with the cleanliness of your room. This is certainly not what we expect to happen and shall be looked into with our House Keeping.

We are a traditional Georgian family run hotel with restaurants, bars and spa facilities with a car park and easy access to the town centre and we hope that the price of our rooms reflects what we have to offer all our guests.

We do hope to welcome you back to the Wynnstay in the future...

We stayed here for a wedding weekend- there were lots of us which I think the staff dealt with well and were patient when we were a bit worse for wear. Nice clean rooms for the price, we even had a balcony which was unexpected. My only negative comments would be the breakfast which was crap. The full english arrived with one sad looking sausage, one sad rash of bacon, ONE EGG, a few mushrooms and a black pudding. No beans. It can't be too hard to do a decent fry up that at least looks appetising. The Eggs royale the next day took ages to come and did not taste right. There was also another wedding on and our room was above the music unfortunately which went on past 12. It was fine for me but if you needed a decent night sleep I'd request to be on the other side of the hotel. The pool are + sauna steam room set up is really nice. If you want a massage or facial etc make sure you book before you go as it's busy.

I purchased a Spa day experience through Spa Breaks at the Wynnstay Hotel & Spa for my friends Christmas Present and as I am celebrating a big birthday my friend decided to book a 2 night stay in a deluxe twin room as a birthday present.

We arrived on Sunday 27th May and found the hotel nice and easy with the added bonus of its own car park. Upon arrival we were given a lovely warm welcome and were quickly booked in and given our room key despite being earlier than the check in time. There was also the offer to take our baggage to the room which we declined as we had left the baggage in the car in case the room wasn't ready. Our room was right at the top of the hotel and by the time we climbed the staircase to our floor with the luggage and supply of oxygen would have been welcome so if they offer grab it while you can.

The room 201 was lovely, fresh and clean; however, felt a little on the small side especially for a deluxe twin room compared to other hotels where the deluxe rooms are often larger than standard rooms. It was also very very warm especially as there is no air conditioning but at least you could open the window and put the fan on that is provided.

On our first evening we went into Wilson the Cocktail Bar but couldn't stay for long as it was so hot and humid and felt really uncomfortable so we went back next door to the lounge bar.

The breakfast the next morning was delicious, we opted for the cooked as a treat and were not disappointed at all. The buffet continental was also excellent this morning.

The spa and leisure facilities are absolutely lovely and so relaxing. Emily who did our treatments was fantastic. The treatments we had were amazing and so relaxing and would definitely recommend anyone to go there.

Overall this is a good hotel in a fantastic location with a fantastic spa but not sure if the extra cost of a deluxe room was worth it. Would I stay again, yes but would ask for a room without so many stairs to get to, that wasn't so hot and perhaps enquire how to upgrade to a larger room.

Room tip: Enquire to what floor you are going to be placed on.

I stayed at the Wynnstay for two nights. My room had recently been refurbished to a very high standard. It was a lovely room to stay in, bright, calming and with all the facilities that I needed. I was really impressed with the bath towels.... thick, very large brilliantly white towels. It's unusual to be provided with a towel large enough to use !! The breakfast menu was excellent with plenty to choose from and served in an impressive dining room. Lovely helpful staff and free parking in the hotel grounds. A great place to stay.
