“One of Shropshire's hidden delights”
Reviewed May 16, 2013

Great little pub next to it's own camp site, views over the river severn towards Melverly and Criggion.

A maze of little rooms (including the dairy!) and fireplaces, outdoor seats

Good pub menu with very reasonable prices. Some solid basics and a good selection of specials too. Pizza and Curry nights Tuesday and Friday. Proper real ale on draught and a welcoming atmosphere.

Visit on the August bank holiday to meet 200+ folks & cars from the local vintage vehicle rally all stood in the road!

“Great place, great food, great location”
Reviewed May 8, 2013

Have loved the location of the Royal Hill for many years, but only ate there for the first time recently. We went for pizza night. It was a beautiful, warm, spring evening, which starts the evening off perfectly. The location, right by the river Severn is stunning. The pub was very busy, but our pizzas arrived in good time. The side salads had a nice dressing, and the chips were well cooked. Couldn't fault the whole experience

“Good food, lovely location”
Reviewed May 5, 2013 via mobile

The Royal Hill is a lovely pub serving decent pub meals. I've eaten here a few times, and today as part of a group of eleven for lunch. It's very olde worlde, with lots of nooks and crannies, has great service and is located opposite a field leading to the river. It also has a campsite next to it with hardstandings and EHUs, and a facilities block. This pub can get very busy, so best to book a table to be on the safe side.

“OMG! Shhhhh, don't tell anyone what a great place it is.”
Reviewed April 21, 2013

How busy! How popular! Once you've been you'll know why. A gem!
Found by accident whilst looking for somewhere to park the camper overnight. Down tight twisty roads in rural setting next to the river. Camping and caravan site next door with showers and toilets.

The place isn't big and was packed (spilling outside) and after talking to the locals, it always is, so book, it's worth it.

The prices are so cheap £2.50 a pint of Shropshire Gold and kept really well.

The food, goodness it's good. The prices are reasonable, portions to fit the largest belly. The taste was faultless. I had risotto and my hubby steak. Both cooked perfectly and only £22.00 with extra chips not that we needed them. The quality was good and local. The service and staff was faultless. They where so busy, just still had time to give 100%. They really know how to run a proper pub. To top it all the atmosphere, it was full of locals who where happy to share the place and chat. So friendly, they really made you feel at home.

Oh! if they can't find you a seat to eat your food, you can have take away :) locals where getting food for their dinner. So sweet.

Love, love, love! I just wish I lived closer. Thank you for a memorable night.
