We called on a Sunday afternoon to be greeted by a strange barman, who was less that welcoming. However the young barmaid was delightful and caring which made up for her older colleague. The food was basic but good. Maybe I would eat here again....maybe not.
The establishment is a little disappointing in that on arrival it looks a delightful old canal side hostelry. However, inside, the dining area is similar to a village hall, large and lacking in ambience and atmosphere, a little like a sterile motorway halt.
