Everything about this place is excellent from the reception (Quite small) to the audio tour which is very well done and succeeds in setting the scene and creating the atmosphere which enfolds the whole site .
The tour takes you through all the buildings and explains clearly and simply how they were used. You can really appreciate the vastness of the church, experience the life of the monks in your imagination and also feel the peace and beauty of the environment. The history of the buildings and the priory is very well explained from its creation to its sad demise, a result of corruption and greed probably. Much Wenlock itself provides a good range of tea shops and pubs, and an excellent couple of book shops. You can't go wrong. Make it a Priority!

Well kept priory in a lovely quiet part of Much Wenlock, belonging to English Heritage. Car park charge at the priory but only £1 and went towards the upkeep of the priory. Staff friendly and the site easy to get around. Loved the preened hedges and has been well preserved. Definitely worth a visit.

Beautiful spot, well looked after by English Heritage. There's a fair bit left to see and it gives you a strong feeling of what life might have been like there - it must have been stunning in its day. There were very few people there when we visited so it was peaceful. There's an audio tour (free) which was ok. The guide book didn't tell you much more than the audio tour - I'd expected more detail. Overall though very well worth a visit.

We went to the priory after visiting the town. It's a magnificent place and the information audio loop gives a good background of what the priory would have been like.
