Looking for somewhere to eat on a wet afternoon while visiting Much Wenlock we noticed a sign that dogs were welcome in the bar, we were made very welcome on entering the busy bar, menus delivered promptly to the table along with biscuits for the dog (which she much appreciated) we ordered Ham, Egg, chips and peas this was served quickly and was very good. A nice pub with a friendly atmosphere.

Walked in to what seemed a lively local pub. There is a dining area with small tables but food and service was excellent. 3 of us ordered beef wellington which was as good as any fine dining restaurant could have done and probably for a fraction of the price. The portion was HUGE. Wish we hadn't had starters (which were also very good). My husband had sirloin steak which was also cooked exactly as he liked it. Needless to say we had no room for puddings. Would highly recommend as very good value for money.

we looked for some place to have lunch as we where traveling to Shropshire. found the George and Dragon on the internet.
arrived at the pub ordered drinks and food after a long wait the drinks arrived and then the food, my wife's soup was cold and had to go back. our friends had eaten there food by the time we got ours staff nice and pleasant. but service very slow. it was a good job we arrived when we did as there was only a couple of customers in front of us. not long after we arrived the pub got very full and service seamed to get slower

We have been here before and got as decent meal. This time it was extremely slow service all the more irritating to watch a 3aiter having long chat with friends at another table. Starters of mushroom was more like mush than mushrooms or even mushroom shaped, sitting in a bath of oil, over garlic-ed (and I LOVE garlic!) My meal- 'Fidget pie' was over salty and a sad example of a pie. My partner ordered a steak- medium- it came up well done. It was sent back and they were very very apologetic and offered a free glass of wine -which was nice -but the second steak was just as bad and by the time it arrived I had long finished eating my pie. The bar area was full of locals and has lots of great atmosphere. My recommendation is drink there and book somewhere else to eat.
