The hotel is lovely. Our room is spacious and clean. White bed coverings and new furniture. rooms even have new block out curtains, new television, kettle and nice soaps. Not at all like the photos. Would recommend.

Do not be deceived by earlier reviews as the inn was bought over recently and the new owners have refurbished the interior and is a stark contrast to previous reviews. Presently, the staff were friendly and provided good service. Rooms were spick and span and the furniture was new. Food was sumptuous and priced reasonably. Good location (near Stokesay Castle).

Friendly staff, prompt service, good selection of pub fare. HPA beer fine. We went a walk to see the bluebells at Wart Hill Wood after getting directions from obliging owner. This was a fine walk across fields to the woods, and a circular walk arounfd the woods.

Stopped here on way to relatives. Very friendly helpful staff and delicious cod and chips washed down with a good local ale. Unpretentious food but very well cooked and service good. Would visit again.

Nans 90th birthday wish was a weekend at Craven Arms where she lived as a child. An overnight stay at the Stokesay Inn where she met her husband was a must. I looked at the hotel reviews where others have stated its getting better and better under new management. We wern't disapointed, very friendly and welcoming, rooms were clean, functional and the bed really comfy. Rooms were lovely and warm as the heating was on. We had an evening meal which was fabulous, I would highly recommend the rib eye steak with shropshire blue cheese - hats off to the chef it was the best steak I have had in a long time. I would also recommend the HPA, lovely pint of ale. We also had beakfast and Sunday roast which was of exactly the same high standard. One of the locals advised that the meat was sourced locally which is great. The Stokesay Inn is most definately on the up and up with both owners and staff doing a fantastic job. Thanks to all there for making Nan's trip down memory lane so enjoyable.

Have stayed there twice at the back end of 2012, whilst house hunting. Under new management from Novenber,2012 and being improved daily. Dining room has been upgraded and redecorated. Whole place is radically improved over its former run down state. Couple who now run it are very helpful and obliging. The hotel belongs to Enterprise Inns. Believe further works will take place over a period of time
Food menus have been improved and what is provided is well cooked and of good quality. Sunday lunches have recently been started at a reasonable price.
The lounge bar at the front does stock beers including HPA and has some games available. The public bar at the rear, has a television. Room we stayed in were satisfactory and clean. Believe many of the previous faults have been rectified and the managers, quite rightly, are proud of what has been achieved in a very short space of time.
There are good car parking facilities and it is right alongside the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre on the A49. At this time, Shropshire Council are proposing a Red Kite feeding station in the area towards late 2013, if approval can be granted, although much work has yet to be done.
Craven Arms railway station, on the Marches and Heart of Wales lines is approximately 500 yards away, with good services to Manchester, Holyhead and Cardiff. A much slower but very scenic jouney is available by the Heart of Wales Line to Swansea. all services are operated by Arriva Wales and go via Shrewsbury
It is a great pleasure to report on an establishment that is clearly on the way up in these difficult times and giving good value for money.
I am not connected with the Stokesay Inn in any way, but I do live locally and use it.
